Teknion is currently hiring a Marketing Manager for our North York, ON head office for a four (4) month contract. The Marketing Manager is accountable for researching and establishing strategic marketing plans that build Teknion’s sales and leadership position in the market.  Reporting to the Director of Canadian Marketing, the Marketing Manager is responsible for implementing those strategies to help achieve yearly revenue and margin goals.  The Sr. Marketing Manager will work in cooperative partnership with all other marketing teams to share programs and avoid any duplication of effort.


Strategies and Plans

  • Responsible for the analysis of market trends, issues and opportunities in the Canadian market.  Based on this research, and in partnership with Sales leadership, to develop marketing plans in support of sales goals and the approved worldwide product launch plan.

  • Coordinate plans with the US/Corporate Marketing teams to seek synergies, share workload and avoid any duplication

  • Develops and manages the Canadian marketing budget of ~$3M to ensure it reflects sales/marketing objectives and company profitability objectives.

  • Leads the marketing team in implementing national and regional tactics that achieve strategic objectives.

  • Evaluates the effectiveness and ROI of marketing initiatives to continually improve focus


  • Is a key participant on the Digital Teknion Team, constantly seeking ways to enhance our communication abilities with the market

  • Seeks out, evaluates and helps to develop new digital platforms

  • Identifies ways to enhance our product visualization capabilities

  • Develops new technologies to allow us to communicate better (e.g. uber flip books)

  • Able to develop graphic sales tools in house to enhance the professionalism of our sales teams

  • Helps to build our marketing capabilities within SFDC, to give impact and efficiency.  This will involve customization of the software, addition of Apps, HTML programming of templates, training users how to take greatest advantage of the tool, etc.

Business Development and Marketing Activities

  • Champions and builds awareness of the Teknion brand in the Canadian market through the execution of effective campaigns aimed at key stakeholders (customers, designers, dealers)

  • Directs and executes the creation and distribution of effective sales support tools to meet the unique needs of the Canadian sales team and dealer networks.

  • Tie closely to key sales pursuits and provide marketing assistance to help us win

  • Develops strategically focused marketing programs to help us enter and achieve business results against new market sectors (e.g. education, hospitality)

  • Develops coordinated plans with the US Market, and aids in the translation of any marketing tools developed for the Canadian market to all other markets (i.e. US, Europe, International)

  • Aids in creation of effective training programs for Sales & Dealers


  • 10 years senior marketing or product management experience, with at least 3 years in the Industry preferred

  • University degree or equivalent in Marketing or Business

  • Strong technical and graphic skills, with a proven track record of staying abreast of new technologies and media

  • Experience with running marketing programs through considered an asset

  • Well defined analytic, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Well defined negotiation, implementation, budget and project management skills

  • Proven ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of senior managers so that all potential synergies are achieved.  May work either as team lead or team member, depending on the assignment

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust priorities as required

  • Hands on personal style
