Laboratory Technician- In Vitro

Position Summary:

The Lab Technician – In Vitro chief responsibility is to assist staff with the functional operation of the bioanalytical and in vitro Pharmacology laboratory and perform a variety of common and moderately complex tasks to aid in the on-going research. This position reports to the Laboratory Supervisor, In Vitro.

Essential Functions:

• Maintains detailed and organized laboratory files and documents.
• Accurately follow appropriately laboratory protocols
• Participates in weekly lab meetings.
• Maintains lab equipment daily and/or weekly as needed.
• Performs general laboratory duties, including calibrating balances, and general lab organization.
• Assist with other laboratory duties as assigned.
• Supports Research Associates with study related tasks.
• Assists Lab Management with supply inventory and ordering.
• Receive and document in-coming samples and compounds.
• Ensure that all safety guidelines are always followed strictly and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry or at least one year of direct laboratory experience.

Required Specialized/Technical Skills:

• Experience in general laboratory techniques.
• Overtime and weekend work required.
• Highly organized.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
