About the Job:

  • Own various GL accounts, including recording of transactions, reconciling and reporting
  • Manage month-end close for certain processes and accounts owned for European Entities, continuously work towards improving efficiency and accuracy of financial close
  • Streamline, automate, develop, and implement best practice accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes when needed
  • Identify and implement new scalable processes, as the business continues to grow, and critically analyze variances from forecasts/estimates
  • Challenge existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Assist in accounting for international operations, ensuring that processes for assigned accounts are consistently applied to key foreign subsidiaries
  • Contribute to establish and strengthening internal control processes and procedures, including analysis, documentation, identifying and implementing improvements
  • Liaise with FP&A, sales, account management teams, and other cross-functional teams to gather data, improve processes, and support business needs
  • Work closely with the Finance team to accomplish team and company goals and drive projects to completion
  • Ad hoc analysis and reporting requests.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have proven their ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and complex environment. As the role requires operational diligence as well as a working understanding of accounting concepts, a mix of technical and functional education and experience is preferred. The candidate should be able to independently tackle challenges and have a strong work ethic. German language skills are required for this role.

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or 3+ years of accounting/finance work experience
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Excel and financial accounting systems – NetSuite is preferred
  • Ability to manage workload to meet established deadlines
  • Eagerness to learn and expand into new areas of responsibility
  • Proven ability to think critically and solve complex problems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A team player
  • German Language speaker/writer
  • Excellent time management and project management skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter, focuses on the goal at hand and sees projects through to completion.
