Position Title: Staff Engineer

Position Description/Responsibilities: 

  • You’re excited about developing and delivering dashboard experiences supporting internal and external customers 
  • While you may have an area of concentration, you understand technologies up and down the software stack 
  • You’re an effective collaborator, working efficiently with product management and technology teams across a fast-moving organization 
  • Updates job knowledge by studying programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications. 
  • Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues. 
  • Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed. 
  • You know how to balance trade-offs between perfecting design and speed of delivery of the product.

In this role, you will: 

  • Design, develop, and optimize features of Tapjoy's dashboard (for both advertiser and publisher) 
  • Collaborate with product, design and engineering teams to make Tapjoy's dashboard better.

Core Competencies include: 

  • Full stack software development (Ruby on Rails, REST, GraphQL, Distributed Systems) 
  • Strong proficiency in web development including JavaScript, HTML5, CSS 
  • Design REST API, and build a scalable production system, Experience with GraphQL is a plus 
  • Software Design, Debugging, Documentation, Testing 
  • Experience with Distributed Systems is a plus


  • Bachelor's + 8 years or Master's + 5 years of work experience in a professional setting. 
  • Strong understanding of Algorithms and Data Structures. 
  • You ideally have experience with web stacks under scale.
