Position Title: Senior Manager, Engineering

Position Description/Responsibilities:

  • Lead the data engineering team for the real-time big data infrastructure. 
  • Develop and manage analytics data processing systems with big-data technologies such as Hadoop and HBASE. 
  • Decide big-data technology stack. 
  • Maintain QoS in terms of data processing such as consistency, availability and processing time limit. 
  • Select and integrate any big-data tools and frameworks required to provide requested capabilities. 
  • Implement ETL Process. 
  • Monitor performance and advise of any necessary infrastructure changes. 
  • Define data retention policies.
  • Ten percent (10%) international travel is required. 


  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and two (2) years of experience as a Software Engineer or closely related occupation


  •  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer or closely related occupation.    


  • Demonstrated experience with java; ruby; scala;

  • Hadoop Ecosystem of Tools (Spark, Hive, Pig, Oozie, Impala, and MapReduce) 

  •  Familiarity with Storm, Samza, Spark Streaming or other streaming data technologies

  • Familiarity with Kafka

  • Shell scripting (Python, Perl, and Bash)

  • Database performance concepts like indices, segmentation, projections and partitions

  • Working with business partners and engineers to gather, understand and bridge definitions and requirements.
