Position Title: Senior Accountant

Position Description:

Tapjoy is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to be a vital contributor in the month-end close and day-to-day financial processes of our business. The Senior Accountant position will be tasked with a number of accounting activities including, but not limited to: customer invoicing, maintaining GL schedules and waterfalls, bank and credit card reconciliation review, and accruals for monthly, quarterly and annual accounting period closings.  This role will have high visibility inside and out of the company. The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent organization, prioritization and communication skills. Strong attention to detail, the ability to maintain and/or improve daily operations within the Accounting department, and working well under deadlines are all must-haves.  In addition, the Senior Accountant must take initiative to solve or maintain complex tasks that are routinely done with minimal direct supervision. 


  • General daily and monthly accounting functions, including preparing and posting journal entries and account reconciliations 
  • Prepare complex top-tier customer invoices and enter into the accounting system
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies; correspond with customers and respond to inquiries
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Review sales contracts for accuracy and feasibility as well as reasonableness of credit requests
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly sales tax calculations
  • Support management with special projects, workflow process improvements, and ad hoc requests
  • Maintenance of GL schedules possibly including, but not limited to, fixed assets, deferred rent, prepaid assets, deposits, bad debt, accounts receivable, and deferred revenue
  • Partner with members from other departments (legal, sales, sales operations, ad operations, business intelligence, and developer relations) in cross-functional initiatives
  • Will be a meaningful contributor for internal and external audits

  • 3+ years of experience working in an accounting role with a technology company and/or Big-4 accounting firm 
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Business or other related field with a strong knowledge of GAAP 
  • Experience in technical accounting research 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - able to communicate upwards and outwards in a clear & concise manner 
  • Proficiency with MS Excel is a must have 
  • Experience working with ERP/CRM software systems, especially Salesforce and Netsuite

Bonus points: 

  • CPA or CPA candidate 
  • ASC606 experience
