T1D Exchange brings together the best of traditional clinical and biological research with the expanding fields of health information technology and virtual community-building. It is comprised of a BioBank, Clinic Registry and Glu.

By delivering a platform to our partners that facilitates an unprecedented knowledge exchange between the research community, people with type 1 diabetes, and their caregivers, the T1D Exchange links the entire type 1 community in its efforts to accelerate research and improve healthcare for all people with type 1.


  • Work with the Glu Research Advisory Board to develop and operationalize the Glu Research Plan.
  • Work with Glu Research Associate to operationalize studies.
  • Act as primary research liaison to Jaeb Clinical Health Research Center (JCHR).
    • Coordinate between the T1DX Registry data and content for Glu.
    • Work with T1DX Statistical Research Center on T1DX and Glu data analysis projects
    • Collaboratively write and submit abstracts and publications.
  • Match technological capabilities with study design and data collection needs, and create a plan for future technology needs.
  • Leverage the Glu research platform, incorporating all aspects of the T1D Exchange including the patient registry and strategic alliances.
  • Develop summary of monthly topics, what did we learn, delivery of results to Glu Content Manager at the close of month.
  • Conduct background research and due diligence on research topics, including but not limited to literature reviews and interviews with KOLs.
  • Represent Glu to the clinical diabetes community.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with clinics.
    • Create clinical Glu educational materials.
    • Attend clinical conferences and meetings.
  • Research and Analytics.
    • Oversee the effectiveness of annual strategy and Glu user analytics.
    • Manage and support monthly analytic reports for JSC.
    • Develop Glu abstract and publication plan.
  • Prepare and collaborate on research manuscripts.
  • Work with camps and cooperative partners to conduct outcomes analysis and evaluation of programs through Glu U.


  • Understanding of online research and  the regulatory landscape for online research.
  • Experience with survey design and creation.
  • Familiarity with IRB, protocol creation, etc.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders regarding input on data collection, survey development, and data dissemination.
  • Scientific writing capabilities.
  • Strong presentation skills.


  • Located in the Boston, MA area (or the ability to commute to the T1DX Boston office regularly during the week).
  • Background in clinical research.
  • Experience with survey design and creation.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Type 1 diabetes.
  • Travel: Ad hoc travel (approximately once per month).


  • Market research experience.


Recognized undergraduate degree in a clinical, science or related field or R.N. or equivalent work experience is required; a degree in Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Nursing or a related discipline is preferred.
