Network and Systems Administrator

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and respond to Help Desk tickets and other support requests, including resetting passwords, setting up or moving workstations, troubleshooting printer problems and more

  • Setup system access for new employees, and perform new employee IT orientations

  • Remove all system access for all former employees

  • Installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting end user workstation hardware, software, peripheral devices, and mobile devices

  • Manage and ensure effectiveness of servers and their associated operating systems and software

  • Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, UPSs, and so on

  • Participate in regular written and in-person communications with the Bank’s department managers and end users, regarding pertinent network activities

  • Participate in developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links

  • Assess and administer equipment, hardware, and software upgrades

  • Perform IT and vendor related risk assessments, including due diligence reviews

  • Support the Director of IT with documenting the IT Department’s policies, procedures, budgeting and expense tracking, as well as risk management

  • Support the Director of IT with maintenance and review of compliance with regulatory requirements for system security and controls consistent with business objectives

Education/Experience:  Formal Education & Certification

Certifications in server administration or networking, or equivalent experience (any Microsoft or CompTIA certification is desired, but not required)

Certification in Cisco router configuration or equivalent experience (CCNA desired, but not required)

At least Two years’ experience managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, VPNs, etc.

Exceptional technical knowledge of network and Microsoft PC operating systems,

Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, switches, hubs, network interface cards, and so on.

Excellent knowledge of current routing protocols and standards, such as OSPG and BGP

Extensive application support experience with Microsoft Windows and Office Suites

Knowledge and understanding of system flow charts, data processing concepts, and telecommunications principles.

Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
