Job Summary

The Associate Financial Advisor (AFA) is responsible for leading client relationships and serving our existing clients. An AFA must have strong interpersonal and critical-thinking skills, and work well within and across teams. A qualified candidate is a clear communicator, detail-oriented, organized, has a high degree of follow-through, handles multiple tasks efficiently, and thrives in a fast-paced working environment. This is a great opportunity for a candidate with 2 years of advisory/client relationship experience. This position would support a growth track towards becoming a financial advisor.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build, deepen, and retain client relationships (generally relationships under $1M in managed assets for those in asset accumulation and asset decumulation phases) by providing high-quality client experience in all interactions (ex. client service calls, meetings, and comprehensive financial planning) and logging notes/information accurately in CRM/planning software
  • Provide support to the Financial Advisors in their work with larger clients:
    1. Pre-client meeting: prepare client meeting agendas and client portfolio presentations, review open CRM tasks, FP checklists, Holistiplan prep, etc.
    2. Participate in client meetings to develop skills on the path to becoming a financial advisor (ex. running financial planning software/edits)
    3. Post-client meeting tasks: referral communications to our Estate Planning partner and assist with trust and estate documentation, update Holistiplan updates and uploads, following up on information/documentation as needed
    4. Contribute to the BD proposal process (build initial plan after prospect meeting)
    5. May be responsible for additional special projects/research related to the client’s financial plan/recommendations (ex. RSU spreadsheets)
  • Seek to grow relationships through client additions
  • Seek to generate referrals from existing clients
  • Update financial plans for AFA’s existing clients using financial planning software – note: financial planning is not part of the core offer for our <$1M client, however financial planning may be performed in one-off cases.
  • Strategize and contribute to developing new financial plans for prospects and clients (in collaboration with the Financial Advisors) using financial planning software
  • Complete ongoing system and mentorship training and CE credits (where applicable)
  • Answer phones, direct calls, and take messages (as backup to Workplace Experience Coordinator and Operations Team)


Qualifications

  • Series 65 or CFP
  • A minimum of 2 years within the financial services industry with relationship management/financial planning experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Highly proficient in MS Office
  • Experience with eMoney or similar financial planning tool (Salesforce CRM and AdvisorView a plus)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, computer, and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive contributing team player able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and prioritization skills, and the ability to follow through on projects effectively
  • Must have mode of transportation for travel (prospect/client meetings)


Salary and Benefits

  • The expected base salary for this position will range from $85-115K plus eligibility for bonus and additional incentive compensation based on successfully completing metrics. Actual compensation may vary from posted base salary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.
    • Individual bonus plan (eligible after 6 months of employment) based on successfully completing planning/service metrics (related to service level agreement, BD opportunities, assessment of financial planning work/client relationships), team contributions)
    • Incentive compensation on additional and referred assets (from existing clients and COIs)
