The Opportunity:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our financial records, ensuring accuracy, and providing insightful reporting to support our strategic objectives. This mid-level position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes.
- Handle collections and client billing issues.
- Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll and assist with 401(k) administration.
- Support basic HR functions, including onboarding and record-keeping.
- Assist with end-of-month financial reporting and reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate records in accounting software (QuickBooks and/or Sage X3).
- Prepare and process financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a regular basis.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing accurate financial data.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies while maintaining financial integrity.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics) and Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Nice-to-haves:
- CPA or relevant certification is a plus.
- Experience in financial analysis or reporting.
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance.
- Familiarity with project management tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
