Responsibilities:

  • Promote and support the design, development and implementation of improvement services across the organization.

  • Work with managers across the organization to plan, organize, develop objectives for and sustain process changes in their operations.

  • Teach and coach multiple levels of the organization, ranging from front line staff to executives on the application of Lean as a platform for organizational improvement.

  • Lead, facilitate and evaluate the outcomes of complex process or program improvement projects, including Value Stream Mapping sessions, Kaizen improvement workshops and events.

  • Support the implementation of Lean active daily management practices (i.e. daily huddles, status meetings, etc.).

  • Support and coordinate the development of Lean educational tools.

  • Support collection, analyze and report on performance outcomes.

  • Promote and champion Lean (A3) thinking and advance the organization’s ability to meet and exceed key strategic initiatives and business outcomes.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and efficient communication with project sponsors, project oversight members, process owners and key stakeholders.

  • Train and coach other staff on Lean technical approaches.

  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Knowledge of:

  • Lean tools and concepts including Value Stream Mapping, A3 thinking, 5S events, Plan-Do-Check/Study-Action (PDCA or PDSA) and other structured problem solving tools, Daily Improvement, and other advanced Lean technical concepts.

  • Lean process deployment and facilitation techniques.

  • Group process facilitation, change management and conflict resolution techniques and practices.

  • Process improvement and continuous learning concepts and principles.

Bonus Points:

  • Facilitate teams and manage change.

  • Oversee and facilitate effective project management.

  • Teach Lean improvement concepts and principles to a diverse audience including staff at different levels of the organization, from senior management to line staff

  • Develop and write training material content.

  • Analyze a wide variety of moderate to complex issues or sets of data and translate into meaningful information that is useful in shaping work at the enterprise-level.

  • Prepare and present clear, concise, and logical written and oral reports, correspondence, policies, procedures, and other written materials to all levels of the organization.

  • Make sound, independent decisions within established policy and procedural guidelines.

  • Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner; organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines.
