Inventory Control Supervisor

Job Description

The Inventory Control  Supervisor works with the external and the internal customer to plan and execute on time, coordinating closely with Manufacturing and Production to ensure a seamless and fully transparent transaction for the internal and external customer.   

This work includes: material planning, supplier compliance, reporting, new product phasing, process improvement, WMS launch and supply chain project management. 

WMS material planning and logistics experience is a must.

Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain Engineering, this position is particularly engaged in Materials Planning, Inventory Control, Coordinating Materials, and logistics used in manufacturing and deployment across the US.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

●Manage material delivery from PO to Shipping, including supplier scheduling & coordination; shipping & receiving; internal expectations; and, early intervention and problem solving around delivery problems.

●Meets with related functions to resolve interdepartmental conflicts.

●Work with supervisors in each team to Investigate inaccuracies in inventory records & keep asset records clean

●Ensures current production plans meet future orders.

●Negotiates and resolves customer “past due” orders.

●Ensures optimization of all materials management activities including scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, materials movement, supplier performance measurement, and indirect materials management.

●Monitors and maintains material usage variances affiliated with production activities. Input on applicable corrective actions to identified root causes.

●Monitors and maintains cycle count program in each Subsidiary & Central Warehouse. Identify and implement corrective actions as required.

●Works with the Materials and Production Planners to reduce lead-times, inventory investment, and to eliminate recurring service problems related to procurement activities.

●Monitors and maintains System inventory; identifies and resolves issues with blocked stock, negative balances, etc.

●Drive improved supplier relationships.

●Manages current production and material plans, inventory, and obsolete items

●Work with Supplier to solve delivery delivery, quality and cost problems. 

●Work with Supplier to develop and maintain supplier performance.

●Identify Problem Suppliers and suggest changes or strategies to improve.

●Identify opportunities for Supplier & Process improvement

●Responsible for supplier performance in terms of scheduling, delivery, and responsiveness objectives.

●Review engineering changes that impact material or supplier.

●Manage supplier compliance to contracts.

●Responsible for initiating and completing continuous improvement projects for delivery.

●Document key Materials Follow-Up & Inventory processes, recommend improvements & implement those enhancements.

●Develop Materials Follow-Up MOP

●Prepare key reports for management review, delivery, and responsiveness objectives. Includes on time delivery, forecast accuracy, % correct orders, materials availability, inventory turnover, inventory accuracy, inventory turnover, carrying costs.

●Lead effort to develop inventory accuracy, inventory control and order process.

●Key participant in forecasting process, development & maintenance.

 POSITION REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

●Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent Supply Chain/Supplier Management experience in a manufacturing, transportation, metals or consumer goods.

●WMS experience is essential (Accellos High Jump)

●Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Supply Chain Organization  for an internal manufacturing operations (preferably in transportation or electronics).

●Language skills: Proficiency in English is required; Spanish is a big plus

●Proficient in MS Office with advanced skills in Excel for analysis, planning & reporting, ability to create, manipulate, utilize spreadsheets, word processing programs.

●Ability to analyze bills of material and drawings to understand key requirements.

●Must keep timely, accurate and detailed records of all activities, particularly decision trees.
