IT Manager (HYBRID)

Information Technology | Hybrid/IL | Full Time | From $100,000.00 to $125,000.00 per year

This position is in Evanston, IL.
It is a REMOTE position however may need to come into office/data center sometimes in Evanston IL.

We are looking for a skilled IT Manager to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, securing, and improving the company’s virtual, physical as well as cloud infrastructure. You will also be responsible for support and maintenance of databases and applications, troubleshooting, and resolving software/access issues for internal end-users. Work with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, and product management.

To ensure success as an IT Manager, you should have an in-depth and working knowledge of systems, networks, Cloud Architecture, and Industry best practices. Ultimately, a top-class IT Manager should possess great communication skills, be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently, have a desire to learn new things, possess critical thinking, and have an attention to detail.__

  • Help deploy, integrate, configure, and propose enhancements to existing environment in accordance with industry best standards.
  • Maintain Identity Access Management systems (IAM) such as AD/AzureAD, MFA, SSO, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software/hardware/access issues for internal end-users in a timely manner, update, and close internal tickets via the ticketing system.
  • Manage Virtual as well as physical hardware infrastructure in multiple data centers.
  • Deploy and manage new and existing Nex Generation Firewall solutions.
  • Oversee and manage backup Disaster Recovery processes -- replication, testing, maintenance
  • Maintain Windows PC, Mac, and mobile environment.
  • Support and Maintain database, applications, and cloud services.
  • Vendor/Contractor oversight including third-party due diligence.
  • Maintain SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) and log management solution to monitor system & network health for the complete picture of servers and endpoints.
  • Identify and rectify vulnerabilities and risks in the company’s hardware and software environment.
  • Assist in providing responses to customer audits, as it pertains to infrastructure, security, availability, recoverability, and monitoring


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
  • 7+ years of experience in Enterprise technology environments with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Knowledge of industry-standard security technologies, protocols, and best practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of Zero Trust & privilege management, IAM & MFA, EDR & AV platforms, Email security (DKIM, DMARC, AV, Phishing), MDM, DLP, Encryption (Data Protection), PKI, SIEM, and Secrets management.
  • Management and support of Next-Gen Endpoint Protection Platforms
  • Work experience with network service and technologies
  • Software/Patch Deployment
  • Management of Mobile devices
  • In-depth understanding of various operating systems including OS hardening (CIS benchmark)
  • Management and support of Multi-tenant SQL Server environment.
  • Experience utilizing DevOps tools
  • Ability to execute multiple large projects simultaneously.
  • Strong collaboration, delegation, and interpersonal communication skills required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple issues while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude.
  • Proven ability to work effectively from a home office.


  • L2 and L3 switching and routing
  • ISO27001, SOC2 Type2, PCI, HIPAA, HITECH, SARBOX, and/or GLBA analysis a plus
  • Microsoft Active Directory, AzureAD, and group policy management,
  • Microsoft InTune or similar platforms
  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
  • Office365 Management, Administration and Security and DLP.
  • IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.
  • CrowdStrike or SentinelOne
  • VMWare with Fiber / iSCSi and SAN Environment in multiple datacenters,
  • Microsoft Web server architecture, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Jenkins, Ansible, GitHub, and GitLab to automate server creation/configuration and code deployments
  • PowerShell, Python, infrastructure as a code scripting
  • Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform is a plus
