POSITION:               Assembly Quality Specialist

LOCATION:              Blackfoot, Idaho

JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Specialist is responsible for the final inspection of machines and subcomponents prior to delivery to customer to ensure the highest quality product is being delivered.  Through specific component inspection, general quality checks, and routine maintenance, the Quality Specialist will verify equipment is ready for delivery to customer.  Additionally, the Quality Specialist will assist with equipment tear down and preparation for shipping.  Quality Specialists will be available for fluctuating shifts and overtime where appropriate in order to respond to production needs.  Quality Specialists will demonstrate a high level of responsibility and accountability while working effectively and efficiently on assigned tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

  • Perform visual and technical inspections on agricultural equipment and make adjustments and/or corrections accordingly;
  • Identify quality concerns and work with Production leadership to diagnose and resolve identified issues;
  • Fabricate, position, install, and adjust component parts as necessary;
  • Create and maintain standard quality control operating procedures for various equipment manufactured;
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping and pre-delivery paperwork associated with each machine;
  • Safely operate material handling equipment such as forklift and overhead crane;
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on tractors, trucks, loaders, forklifts, and other equipment;
  • Organize and maintain storage areas;
  • Recommend process improvements and participate in process improvement efforts;
  • Actively work with internal and external customers to identify and solve manufacturing problems.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous mechanical assembly and/or manufacturing experience preferred;
  • Experience performing routine equipment maintenance (e.g., mechanical, electrical, hydraulic);
  • Proficient in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division);
  • Proficient in all types of measuring tools as required (tape measures, micrometers, calipers, etc.);
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Experience reading and interpreting instructional drawings and schematics;
  • Experience operating tractors, trucks, loaders, and large capacity forklifts (up to 20,000 lbs.).

MACHINES TYPICALLY OPERATED:

  • Power and manual hand tools, drill, rivet gun, impact wrench, drill press, grinder, overhead crane, forklift, pallet jack, etc.;
  • Other machines and equipment specific to departmental or facility needs.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Very Heavy work involving:

TYPICAL ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Worker is subject to inside environmental conditions.  May have temperature changes due to working inside a shop. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.  Includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places.  One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin:  Fumes, odors, dust mists, gases or poor ventilation.  There is air and or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
