We are looking to hire a Warehouse Team Lead for our Tolleson, Arizona facility
First Shift, Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm, $23 to $25 per hour
Scope:
The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for overseeing a variety of warehouse duties such as picking/packing, shipping/receiving functions, auditing, and communicating with employees and management. This position oversees varying sizes of teams to complete the required production jobs within specific timelines, while maintaining accuracy and efficiency levels. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, thorough, has good communication skills, and possesses the ability to lead and direct the work of others.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist Shipping/Receiving with critical functions including scheduling inbound loads, auditing quantities of inbound and outbound loads for accuracy, checking drivers in and out, and filing shipping/receiving paperwork
- Monitor on-time and accurate shipping and receiving of goods according to vendor compliance rules as directed by our customers and vendors
- Oversee the warehouse staff, assign duties, train, and follow through with established quality controls and standard operating procedures (SOP’s) to ensure accuracy
- Set priorities and expectations measuring results against set production and quality objectives
- Ensure ALL S2G operational processes and procedures are always followed, and provide correction when necessary
- Follow-up with employees on performance throughout the day, coach and recognize where/when appropriate
- Provide feedback to staff and management as needed to further individual development
- Work with management to optimize production while meeting customer goals
- Understand customer specific requirements and vendor compliance. Adhere to those requirements when producing finished products or preparing finished products for outbound shipments
- Communicate and monitor safe warehouse practices, including proper lifting techniques, housekeeping, and ergonomic awareness
- Work with the warehouse management system (WMS) to set up and track production jobs through completion if needed
- Additional responsibilities will include tasks such as conflict resolution, employee training, job performance documentation, etc.
- Work in all areas within the warehouse
as needed – shipping/receiving, picking, packing, returns, ECOM
Skills & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required
- 3+ years in warehouse operations, distribution, or inventory control positions
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Lead within warehouse/distribution environment preferred
- Forklift or other mechanical warehouse equipment experience
- Organized, detail-oriented, thorough, great communication skills, and possesses the ability to lead and properly direct the work of others
- Interested in personal growth and development to work closely with management team
- Proficient computer skills working with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) a plus
- Strong math, verbal, and literacy skills
- Communicate, understand, and perform complex tasks with minimal supervision
- Operation of an RF scanner gun, read/enter data via keypad or keyboard
- Standing or sitting for long periods (more than 8 hours at times)
- Able to push, pull, or lift up to 30 pounds at a time throughout the workday. (Other physically demanding work may also be required)
- Reliability in both attendance and job performance is essential
- Strong collaboration skills, a solid work ethic, and the ability to contribute to training and team building are highly valued
- Full availability is required during the holiday period (October through December), including Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, the weekend following Thanksgiving, the first and second weekends of December, and the week of January 1st. Candidates unavailable during these dates will not be considered due to a company-wide blackout policy
- Flexibility to work varied schedules—including overtime without advance notice—is expected, particularly during the busy holiday season
The successful candidate will receive a conditional offer which will be contingent upon a successful background clearance obtained through our contracted third-party vendor. The standard clearance requirements depend on the position and may include some or all of the following: criminal or credit clearance, employment verification, education verification, and driver’s abstract review.
