Scope:

The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing all inbound logistics and inventory control operations at the Kentucky (KY) distribution center, while also providing strategic oversight and indirect support for the Arizona (AZ) facility. This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring timely and compliant inbound processing, and driving operational strategies that promote efficiency and service excellence across sites.

Key responsibilities include managing inventory levels, balancing stock between facilities, leading the annual physical inventory process, and ensuring compliance with documentation standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, analytical acumen, and a proven track record of continuous improvement in fast-paced, high-volume warehouse or distribution environments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the on-time and accurate receiving of goods on a day-to-day basis according to various specification and vendor compliance rules
  • Ensure inbound processes align with customer compliance standards, routing guides, and carrier expectations.
  • Monitor KPIs and lead corrective action planning to address inbound or inventory-related deviations
  • Work collaboratively with the Traffic teams to ensure appointments are scheduled effectively to avoid congestion and delays
  • Interface with internal partners to help manage/resolve freight related matters such as claims and disputes
  • Maintain and monitor inventory accuracy through established processes, including cycle counts, audits, and discrepancy resolution
  • Lead execution of the annual physical inventory (PI) including planning, training, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Establish and enforce controls to prevent shrink, loss, and misplacements; investigate variances and drive root cause resolution
  • Insures protection against product loss through security compliance, cycle counts, awareness, and management visibility
  • Ensure inventory levels are balanced across both facilities by analyzing capacity, demand, and operational constraints; coordinate transfers as needed
  • Partner with the Sales and Planning teams to ensure inventory availability aligns with shipping and fulfillment needs
  • Collaborate with IT and system support teams to ensure WMS data integrity and reporting accuracy
  • Focuses on continuous improvement solutions by analyzing process workflow, personnel resources, facility layout, and customer requirements to recommend and implement changes
  • Effectively lead, and develop the workforce, including work performance management, coaching, and team motivation via real time feedback, quarterly check-ins, and yearly reviews
  • Create and maintain comprehensive SOPs for all inbound and inventory control processes
  • Ensure documentation standards are followed and properly stored for traceability, compliance, and audit readiness
  • Understands, coaches, and supports company procedures, policy, rules, processes, tools, and standards (“SOPs”)
  • Motivates and maintains a positive working attitude for department staff in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
  • Ensure daily operational goals are met in a timely, efficient, and safe manner. Make recommendations and properly assign resources daily to meet productivity targets and adherence to SLA’s
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing all procedures and complying with legal regulations.

Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, or distribution management
  • Minimum 3 yr. management experience within warehouse/distribution environment
  • Proven record of driving process accuracy through effective operations processes and controls
  • Proficient in working with Supply Chain Partners to manage and enhance the flow of product and information between vendors, internal teams, and customers
  • Experience in developing, implementing, executing quality performance standards with proven quality and accuracy result
  • Strong/effective interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Team player with strong financial acumen and proven results in meeting/exceeding team-based performance goals based on safety, quality, speed, and operating expenses
  • Proven analytical and planning skills
  • Ability to be comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on management environment

Must be fully available during the holiday period from October through December; including Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, the weekend after Thanksgiving, the first and second weekends of December, and the week of January 1st. Candidates that are unavailable during these periods will not be considered as this is a company-wide blackout policy.

The successful candidate will receive a conditional offer which will be contingent upon a successful background clearance obtained through our contracted third-party vendor.
