Financial Planning & Analysis Manager – LATAM
Compras | Hybrid in Mexico City, Santa Fe, Alvaro Obregon, Mexico | Full Time
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly strategic, agile, and analytical FP&A Manager to drive financial planning, analysis, and foreign exchange (FX) risk management for our Latin American operations. In the fast-moving electronics distribution sector, hardware margins are tight, supply chains are complex, and market volatility can rapidly erode profitability.
The ideal candidate will possess deep experience navigating the high-variability economic landscapes of Latin America (e.g., Chile, Mexico, Colombia). You will lead multi-scenario modeling, manage complex currency hedging strategies, and partner with regional leadership to protect operating margins and optimize cash flows against constant macroeconomic shifts.
Key Responsibilities
FX Hedging & Risk Mitigation
- Execute Hedging Strategies: Design, monitor, and execute FX hedging programs (using forwards, options, and natural hedges) to protect distribution margins from volatile Latin American currencies against the USD/EUR.
- Exposure Tracking: Quantify and manage transactional and translational currency exposures across regional balance sheets and cash flows.
- Derivative Management: Collaborate with treasury and banking partners to structure derivative instruments that mitigate inventory price protection and currency risks.
Business Partnering & Strategic Insights
- Translate local Latin American market data into clear, actionable financial insights and risk-mitigation recommendations for the executive team.
- Work closely with regional country managers to implement dynamic pricing strategies that protect local profitability when local currencies fluctuate.
- Perform deep-dive variance analysis to clearly isolate operational performance (volume, mix, freight costs) from purely market-driven FX impacts.
- Partner with Supply Chain and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) teams to model the financial impact of long-lead-time cash cycle against fluctuating exchange rates.
Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Lead annual budgeting and monthly rolling forecast processes across LATAM markets.
- Develop detailed financial forecasting models and performance tracking tools.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and provide actionable financial insights to leadership teams.
- Analyze business trends, margins, spending and profitability across different channels and territories.
- Identify deviations and work with leadership teams to implement actions
- Build ad hoc reports as needed by management to manage and monitor performance
Performance tracking
- Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and operational data to ensure the business is moving steadily toward its overarching goals.
- Collaborate with department heads to analyze departmental spending, optimize resource allocation, and support commercial decision-making
Cash Flow
- Monitor and optimize working capital cycles, heavily focusing on inventory turns and accounts receivable performance
- Collaborate with business partners to automate processes that help improve cashflow
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field. MBA, CFA or CPA is highly preferred.
- Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, or Controller, with at least 6 years focused on Latin American markets, in a multi country-location set up is required.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling (Excel), ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and FP&A planning tools. Direct experience with FX forecasting software is a plus.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Professional proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.
