Scope:

The Business Planning Manager will lead the sales and operational execution of go-to-market strategies, sales initiatives, and inventory lifecycle management for vendor-specific product lines across Canada and the USA. This hands-on role is responsible for managing the vendor relationship, aligning cross-functional teams, and driving the overall success of this strategic brand within the company.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Vendor Relations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the vendor throughout the entire product lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with the vendor to ensure successful product launches, marketing activations, and operational execution.
  • Manage changes in vendor sales policies and procedures.
  • Communicate any business-impacting issues to the vendor in a timely manner
  • Align vendor expectations with S2G capabilities to ensure mutual success.

Pricing & Lifecycle Management

  • Maintain and update price lists; communicate pricing changes to S2G sales and support staff.
  • Recommend and oversee the execution of pricing strategies that optimize product performance over time, including the use of strategic price protections and promotional pricing.

Sales Execution

  • Collaborate with Sales teams and customers to maximize sell-in and sell-through performance.
  • Support Sales in preparing and delivering impactful sales presentations featuring industry insights, account-specific data, and product information.
  • Lead all customer-facing transactional processes including order processing, logistics coordination, marketing fund management, and customer service.
  • Partner with Sales to compile, monitor, and report on regional sell-through data, sharing insights with key stakeholders.
  • Join key account sales calls with S2G sales representatives when needed.
  • Organize regular meetings with the S2G Sales team to align with vendor priorities.
  • Leverage sell-through data to guide and benchmark future sell-in strategies.

Trade Marketing

  • Oversee all trade marketing efforts, including planning and executing promotions.
  • Conduct financial analyses to assess the effectiveness of marketing programs.
  • Collaborate with Central Services and Finance to ensure timely execution and reconciliation of vendor-funded initiatives.

Inventory Management and Supply Chain Coordination

  • Provide Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Operations teams with essential information to execute both internal and vendor priorities, including lead times and ETAs.
  • Collaborate with internal Sales Planning teams to manage corporate and customer item-level forecasts.
  • Conduct regular inventory analysis to meet weeks-on-hand targets and forecasted demand.
  • Challenge vendors on unrealistic inventory expectations and escalate issues as needed.
  • Ensure timely fulfillment of customer replenishment orders.
  • Monitor and manage eCommerce inventory and SKU strategy in alignment with Sales objectives.
  • Analyze special buy opportunities and offers to confirm alignment with S2G profitability goals.

Reporting

  • Work closely with the Finance team to ensure vendor payments reflect all applicable BERs, price protections, and allowances.
  • Track, analyze, and report on sell-through performance and market trends to inform forecasting, promotions, and strategic planning.
  • Deliver actionable insights to leadership to drive continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate both scheduled and ad-hoc inventory and sales reporting efforts.
  • Ensure proper vendor billing for special projects outside of S2G’s standard service scope.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly payment reconciliation reports.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field strongly preferred; equivalent work experience also considered.
  • Proven experience in sales operations, financial process management, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and extract meaningful insights.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive, continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills; able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally across diverse teams.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to convey information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in tools and systems used for tracking, reporting, and driving process improvements.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, with proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective team player with the ability to influence stakeholders and align cross-functional objectives.

The successful candidate will receive a conditional offer which will be contingent upon a successful background clearance obtained through our contracted third-party vendor.
