Sr. Manager, Human Resources


Job Description:


Sojern is looking for an Army of One to lead and manage our HR function.  We have almost 100 employees across the globe in San Francisco, Omaha, New York and London. You will be setting up and operating nearly all aspects of our HR function in the company.  You will be based in either San Francisco or Omaha and will regularly travel to spend time with our people in all our offices.  You will report to the CFO and work closely with CEO and all the senior leadership team.


Key Areas of Focus:


  • Performance Management & Compensation: You will manage all our bonus and commission plans, performance reviews, and employee development.  You will benchmark and recommend pay rates.

  • Training: You will spearhead and coordinate employee training.  You help establish and formalize our training programs by working with Sojern experts to create standardized training materials.  You will ensure training happens on schedule.  You will present training in areas of your expertise.

  • Compliance: You will ensure Sojern and its employees are complying with applicable employment laws and will have state-level expertise in California or Nebraska employment law and international experience will be a plus.

  • Onboarding: You will manage the onboarding process of all new hires.  You will help us delight our new employees.  You will put together offer letters and coordinate hiring approvals.

  • Coordination: You will coordinate with Finance, who takes care of payroll and finance.  You will not be responsible for hiring and recruiting but will work with hiring managers and recruiters to onboard new hires.

  • Culture: You will help us maintain our positive culture across all locations, navigate through change, make corrections where needed and build on our strengths.


Qualifications and Experience:


  • Bachelors Degree, ideally in Human Resources, Business or related field.

  • Experience in roles above of 5 - 10 years.

  • Ability to interpret management objectives, identify next steps and execute with minimal supervision.

  • Proven track record of exceeding expectations.
