About us:

Want to join a company on the cutting edge of technology and travel? Want to be part of a fantastic and fun company that’s revolutionizing the online travel advertising space?

Specializing in traveler path-to-purchase data for over a decade, Sojern is travel's direct demand engine for thousands of brands -- from global enterprises to boutique operators -- across the hotel, airline, cruise, transportation, tourism industries, and more. Analyzing the world's travel intent signals with its proprietary data science methods, the company delivered $10B in generated bookings for its clients to date by activating multi-channel branding and performance solutions on the Sojern Traveler Platform.

Recognized on the Top Company Cultures list by Entrepreneur Magazine, Sojern is headquartered in San Francisco, with teams based in Dubai, Dublin, Hong Kong, London, Mexico City, New York, Omaha, Paris, Singapore, and Sydney.

Who are you?

You are an experienced product manager with knowledge of ad tech, the travel industry, audience management and/or performance marketing. You have formed your own point of view on how to deliver successful products in a rapidly changing ecosystem. You have built and shipped products in the past, owning the entire end-to-end process from ideation to rollout and post-rollout management. You know what it means to own a product and desire to be in a position of personal responsibility for your product’s growth and ongoing success.

You have raving fans who love your approach to product management, both on the technical and commercial teams. Internal customers trust your judgment and applaud your communication skills. Engineering leaders approve of your specifications -- they are neither bare-bones haikus, nor are they overly-prescriptive...they are just right.

You have a strong customer service orientation, and think about the needs/wants of both internal and external customers in your daily decision-making and product leadership approach. You  are a natural problem solver, have a “no excuses” mentality and generally maintain a positive outlook when difficulties arise. You have excellent time management skills, and possess the ability to focus intently on a given product or feature and work relentlessly to design the “right” product.

You are analytical and comfortable with technology. Maybe you have an MBA, or perhaps you’ve just naturally developed a strong business acumen along the way. You probably have around 1-3 years of recent product management experience in online software development or the online travel sector. More likely than not, you graduated from a rigorous undergraduate academic program with good marks.

What will you be doing?

  • You will own the product roadmap for Sojern’s audience management and targeting tools as part of our Enterprise Solutions product team. Your end-to-end product lifecycle management responsibilities will include: ideation, stakeholder management, customer feedback, product development, rollout/go-to-market strategy, managing a backlog and ongoing, continuous innovation for your product(s)

  • You will work directly with engineering to prioritize backlogs, manage sprints, and deliver product features in an agile environment

  • You will interface directly with commercial teams: GMs, sales leaders, account managers, partner managers and advertising customers directly, collaborating on potential solutions and gathering feedback for new products and product features

  • You will lead a cross-functional team, comprised of leaders from multiple disciplines within the company, focused on the ongoing success of your product(s)

You will be:

  • Data-driven and results-oriented

  • Able to ruthlessly prioritize your backlogs in the midst of rapid evolutionary change

  • Experienced in agile development methodologies

  • Exceptionally good at authentically understanding the needs of our customers, and representing those needs in the form of concrete product requirements

  • Self-motivated; exhibiting strong self-management and a sense of urgency

  • Able to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with other people and departments in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • An exceptionally strong writer and presenter

  • Able to get things done amid tight time constraints

  • Willing to travel occasionally (international and domestic)

You will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Strong preference given for computer science (CS) or business undergraduate degrees (BS, BBA). An MBA is also highly desirable

  • 3+ years of relevant experience, with at least 1 year as a product manager

  • Samples of product requirements that you can share, or the ability to otherwise demonstrate personal excellence in this area

  • Strong knowledge of programmatic advertising and big data is a plus

  • A strong technical acumen (explicit engineering background not required)

You will get Bonus Points for:

  • Travel sector experience

  • Experience working with online audiences and targeting tools (web and mobile)

  • Previous engineering experience or demonstrable computer science background

  • Previous work in strategy or management consulting

Perks:

  • Culture: Our team loves a good time

  • Snacks: Well-stocked kitchen to fill your breakfast, lunch, and snack needs

  • Opportunities: Be part of a growing team with training and support to help you grow

  • Give Back: We give 40 hours a year to volunteer and organize office volunteer programs with local organizations

  • Ownership: Lead innovative and challenging projects

  • Meals: Monthly catered lunches & happy hours

  • Vacation: Flexible time off

  • Wealth: Stock options
