Senior Content Marketing Manager

Marketing | San Francisco, CA | Full Time

Job Description

About us:

Want to join a company on the cutting edge of technology and travel? Want to be part of a fantastic and fun company that’s revolutionizing the online travel advertising space?

Specializing in traveler path-to-purchase data for over a decade, Sojern is travel's direct demand engine for thousands of brands -- from global enterprises to boutique operators -- across the hotel, airline, cruise, transportation, tourism industries, and more. Analyzing the world's travel intent signals with its proprietary data science methods, the company delivered $10B in generated bookings for its clients to date by activating multi-channel branding and performance solutions on the Sojern Traveler Platform.

Recognized on the Top Company Cultures list by Entrepreneur Magazine, Sojern is headquartered in San Francisco, with teams based in Dubai, Dublin, Hong Kong, London, Mexico City, New York, Omaha, Paris, Singapore, and Sydney.

The role:

Ready to build a high-impact and creative content marketing vision for one of the fastest-growing tech companies in the travel marketing space? As the Senior Content Marketing Manager, you’ll set our global vision—defining goals and objectives, developing the global content marketing plan, and managing a team to execute at a fast pace. You’ll partner with Sales, Product, Data Science, and the executive leadership team to stay on the pulse of what matters most to our customers, investors, and industry influencers—and you’ll find creative ways to deepen brand awareness and inspire sales opportunities across the hotel, air, car, cruise, and tourism industries. We’re looking for someone with broad content experience across a variety of formats (blogs, whitepapers, webinars, social media, case studies, research reports, executive and sales presentations) and throughout the customer lifecycle; ideally you’re equally adept at writing a thought leadership byline as you are an entertaining product intro. The original content we produce often relies on data insights and trends, so an analytical lens is a huge plus.

This high-visibility role will interface directly with the executive team and will be based in our San Francisco office. Reporting to the Senior Director Marketing, Enterprise Solutions, you’ll be a key player in building our world-class brand vision and driving competitive advantage for Sojern.

The successful candidate will:

  • Set the vision for our content marketing strategy—from executing against current programs to brainstorming new ideas to amplify the Sojern brand

  • Develop and refine key content pillars, path-to-purchase narratives, editorial calendar, and distribution strategy to educate and entertain our target audiences, positioning Sojern as the leading partner for reaching in-market travelers

  • Plan and execute all global content marketing programs, including: whitepapers, ebooks, research reports, webinars, case studies, executive keynotes, speaker proposals, social media, blog posts, etc

  • Collaborate across Sales, Product, Data Insights, and Marketing teams to prioritize content projects and manage timelines

  • Employ an approachable yet intelligent tone and voice for Sojern across all channels

  • Mentor, manage, and inspire a team of in-house writers and freelancers

  • Analyze which content assets deliver the biggest impact to the business; share learnings and best practices across teams and departments

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • 6+ yrs experience in Content Marketing and a proven track record of success

  • Produces high quality content in a variety of formats—from thumb-stopping email subject lines, to engaging executive presentations, to insightful gated content, and everything in between

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment while executing a high volume of projects and managing reprioritization requests

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading chops

  • Unicorn-like: exhibits a unique blend of highly creative and strategic thinking skills

  • Self-motivated and collaborative

  • Leadership skills for both your team and the content strategy and initiatives you’ll drive

  • Public speaking skills are a huge plus, to represent us in webinars and live events

  • Team player and all-hands-on-deck mentality

**A portfolio of your work is required of all applicants**

Perks:

  • Opportunities: Be part of a growing team with training and support to help you grow

  • Ownership: Lead creative and challenging projects

  • Give Back: We give 40 hours a year to volunteer and organize office volunteer programs with local organizations

  • Culture: Our team loves a good time

  • Snacks: Well-stocked kitchen to fill your breakfast, lunch, and snack needs

  • Meals: Monthly catered lunches & happy hours

  • Wealth: Stock options

  • Time Off: Flexible vacation days

At Sojern, we value diversity and always treat all employees and job applicants based on merit, qualifications, competence, and talent. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
