The role:

Sojern is looking for a Senior Account Manager, based in our New York office to add to our east coast travel sales team. The Senior Account Manager is responsible for management of advertiser campaigns, while maintaining and growing advertiser partner relationships. The role exists to service and support customers, deliver on campaign commitments, influence client strategy and partner with sales to deliver on company sales targets. They must be extremely organized, have a strong voice, be able to delegate,and keep up with a lot of moving tasks, all while ensuring they are achieving commercial success with their book of business. This role will also potentially oversee a small team of Account /Associate Account managers.

  • Coordinate with sales, ad operations and external clients to ensure campaigns are successfully launched and meet client’s goals.

  • Provide campaign strategies and brainstorm new ideas and concepts to wow potential clients and grow current clients.

  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of their accounts and analyze and interpret performance data to provide optimization recommendations and client facing reporting.

  • Partner closely with internal teams on day-to-day operational processes and larger, high-impact strategic improvements—with special focus on our business run out of New York.

  • Provide high-quality service and drive the bar higher for client satisfaction

  • Establishes self as leader within the team

    • Provides coaching and mentoring to peers and new hires

    • Positions self as subject matter expert in one or more areas

  • Delivers on project deadlines and works with the team to do the same

  • Proactively drives idea generation and innovation to improve tools, process and yield

  • Creates and executes vertical plans and strategic initiatives serving as a thought partner to GM counterpart(s)

  • Positions self as leader within the broader Sojern team through presentation, sharing of best practices and challenging the status quo.

  • Embraces conflict and acts in a solution oriented manner  

  • Demonstrates expertise in Sojern’s products, procedures and client base


What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field. (Accounting, Marketing, Communications, or Finance a plus)

  • At least 3-5 years industry/ account management experience

  • Strong working knowledge of online advertising technology including ad server technologies and DSPs such as DoubleClick DART for Publishers, MediaMind, Sizmek, Atlas, Turn, AppNexus and Mediamath

  • Ability to manage the challenges of juggling multiple accounts whilst providing excellent client service

  • Strong analytical abilities and ability to identify key results and critical solutions that  that support campaign & business objectives

  • Ability to present concepts, influence and gain support at the senior level of an organization

  • Great time management and organizational skills

  • Willing to wear multiple hats and roll up your sleeves to get the job done

  • Great with people – ability to work with internal and external teams

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including public presentation / client facing experience

  • Meticulously detail-oriented, exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage team and projects

  • Demonstrated leadership and innovation capabilities

  • Previous experience in hiring, managing a team, employee development and team building is an added bonus
