The Role:

Sojern’s Tourism team is looking for a driven, outgoing, fun and experienced digital advertising sales professional with demonstrated success developing, managing and growing a high opportunity territory.  The Sales Director will be part of our rapidly growing team and will manage Sojern’s destination and attraction clients. The position requires outstanding sales, communication and organizational skills. The candidate will own developing and maintaining deep relationships and must have full command of understanding digital media.  

The position is full-time. We are open to the ideal candidate being located in California (preferably San Francisco or Los Angeles). Other West Coast locations would be considered based on experience.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Grow current book of Destination Marketing Organization and attraction business while simultaneously closing new accounts

  • Establish and cultivate strong relationships internally as well as with major DMOs (client direct and agencies)

  • Deliver persuasive presentations that educate the market and demonstrate Sojern’s value proposition.

  • Meet and exceed quarterly sales revenue targets (must have fun while doing this)

  • Travel is required so must have access to a major airport.

  • Keeps a positive attitude and a sense of humor

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years in online ad sales with a responsibility of a minimum quota of $1M

  • Experience working with destination marketing organizations and attractions is a bonus but will hire talent with a strong track record over a rolodex

  • Track record of developing long-term relationships with a wide variety of clients and agencies

  • Self-motivated and exhibits strong self-management

  • Works smart with a sense of urgency

  • Lives to aggressively compete with unmatched work ethic during the day to strike a strong work life balance outside the office.

  • Embraces the art of customer service and communication

  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively with other people and departments in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in standard business and sales software required.

  • SalesForce experience highly preferred and at a minimum embraced

  • Travel dependent upon need

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
