The Role:

Are you an ambitious events marketing professional? Does joining a rapidly-growing tech company that is transforming travel marketing sound exciting? The Events team at Sojern is looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable and self-driven Events Associate to support our team in EMEA. The Event Associate role will report directly to the Event Manager, and work with international stakeholders. This role will be responsible for managing all EMEA Sojern events, including evaluating event opportunities, negotiating contracts, planning and promotion of events, day of execution, and event ROI measurement.

We have a vision for our 2018 event strategy and need a self-starter to join our events team to help us build out, research and execute the mission. This position requires a certain amount of adaptability, and ability to move quickly, and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders. You will be developing an event strategy to go into new markets, so an ability to research, create new process to measure success, and implement learnings is crucial.


The Event Marketing Associate will:

  • Negotiate contracts and manage all event related logistical details, including staffing, AV and F&B needs and serve as liaison with vendors

  • Support in the management of global events budget and expense tracking

  • Build out our EU Property Solutions and Enterprise Solutions event strategy to meet company sales goals

  • Work with the Sales team to book and research conferences in key markets, evaluate speaking opportunities and coordinate event participation and sponsorship

  • Work with creative and lead gen roles to create and design pre-event email promotions to drive Sojern awareness and increase visibility

  • Manage post-event evaluations and apply learnings and event successes to continually improve and develop event expertise

  • Attend conferences as on-site support to Sales team - Flexible schedule; available to work nights and weekends (travel 1-2 times per quarter)

  • Research opportunities to work with partners to collaborate on events with and develop relationships

  • Provide post-event recaps that provide insights into the impact on our business

  • Training new staff members on trade show booth etiquette and other event procedures; acting as onsite leader of events

  • Supporting in the creation of event email communication, landing pages, speaking abstracts and other content supporting events

  • Preparing, packing, and shipping event materials



  • 2+ years of work experience in events

  • Outgoing and passionate about customer experience

  • Highly organized and exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment and manage multiple concurrent project demands within established timelines

  • Able to work well independently, as well as under the direction of others

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Additional European language is an advantage

  • Familiarity with hospitality and travel brands a plus

  • Ability to travel
