The role:

This is a sales commissions/sales compensation manager role who will be responsible for commissions and bonus operations including: variable compensations calculations, reporting, and analysis. This role is an essential part of the FP&A team and reports to the VP of Finance.



  • Sales commission expert who will manage day-to-day operations of the variable compensation process

  • Manage Sales/AdOps variable compensation issues and ensure timely resolution

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all variable payment submissions provided to payroll

  • Serve as a point of contact for questions relating to all commission issues, including compensation plans, calculations, and attainments

  • Work with the sales and finance team standardizing the worldwide commission process, communications and calculations provided to sales and payroll

  • Build and implement new hire compensation plans, accelerators, and other sales compensation elements

  • Maintain the organizational direct and overlay hierarchies to ensure accurate crediting

  • Research and resolve commission-related inquiries from the Sales teams

  • Help driving the semi-annual sales commission planning process including, scenario modeling, data analysis, plan preparation, etc.

  • Drive effective internal/external relationships with sales, accounting, adOps, sales operations, PeopleOps, Payroll, and Finance

  • Own accounting function specific to development of the variable compensation accruals including improving the accrual accuracy and timeliness

  • Identify process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and guidelines

  • Provide accounting assistance to all stakeholders; respond to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs

  • Provide guidance and training to sales teams on commission plan structures, reports, policy, and other relevant processes.

  • Provide support for cloud based system implementation as required


Base Requirements:

  • BS/BA in accounting, finance, economics, sciences or other quantitative fields

  • 5-10 years of related experience in sales compensation, accounting, or finance operations

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: formulas (vlookups) and pivot tables

  • Customer service oriented, and have a willingness to help sales reps and management (at all levels) understand and resolve commissions issues

  • Flexibility, an open mind, a strong willingness to learn and improve processes

  • Outstanding executive level communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, detailed oriented, well organized and outstanding analytical skills


Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Xactly, Callidus or equivalent commission packages desired

  • Experience with Tableau, Salesforce, Netsuite, or Adaptive Planning is a huge plus
