The role: 

Sojern is looking for a dynamic Billing Assistant to add to our accounting team. We are a rapidly growing company, and we want you to be part of this amazing growth and expansion. We are looking for a team member that will support the billing process and participate in automation efforts. This position is located in Omaha and reports to the Senior Analyst, Revenue Billing.


  • Post and review ledger activities during month-end close which includes: monthly/quarterly journal entries, and month-end checklists based on finance requirements.

  • Collaborate with the account management team to resolve revenue recognition issues in a timely manner.

  • Resolve billing discrepancies by issuing credits in accordance with Sojern policy.

  • Identifies automation opportunities and contributes to continuous improvement efforts.

  • Assists collection team with billing related questions.

  • Assists with ad hoc projects related to billing automation.

What you bring to the table:

  • An Associate's degree, with a major in accounting, finance, or relevant field.

  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Understanding of billing and revenue processes and experience using general ledger software.

  • Outstanding MS Excel skills.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting revenue recognition problems.

  • The ability to manage multiple competing priorities and to constantly re-prioritize.

  • Attention to details in a complex process.

  • Desire to learn and grow.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • An outstanding focus on achieving a high level of customer service.

  • Critical thinking, with a strategic approach to problem solving.

  • An extremely high sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
