We are looking for an exceptional Technical Team Lead to work with our cross-functional team in Des Moines IA, and join our world-class community of talented experts. The position will serve as overall Team Lead and Technical Lead for IT development projects, including reviewing/writing technical specification documents, and focusing on day-to-day delivery with the team. This work involves:

  • Ability to guide, coach, review and monitor teams designs, coding standards
  • Ensure team’s alignment to technical architecture and ability to deliver code in alignment with defined architecture/standards
  • Strong technical skills in Full Stack, Angular JS and Node JS
  • Understand the project strategy, roadmap, capabilities, and priorities
  • Ensure designs align to the above and are inclusive of member experience needs, system performance needs, technical infrastructure needs
  • Act in a consultative manner when designing solutions, consider options, and provide benefits and risks of each
  • Actively participate in project planning 
  • High level 'swags' for pending features so business partners can make decisions for moving forward/prioritize features for teams
  • Collaborate with architect for feature design
  • Requirements, related review and approvals
  • Specifications - also creation of technical stories where there are current gaps
  • Consider dependencies on other teams and make sure they are addressed (backlog items created for impacted team; added to scrum of scrums, etc.)
  • Mentor developers and peers
  • Participate in grooming; discuss and collaborate on any features that have a significant sizing discrepancy between features sizing and grooming 
  • Creation of libraries or other critical pieces of functionality. Generally things that can be shared either throughout customer or across multiple project repositories (sometimes for a single repository where there will be a lot of reuse of said functionality)
  • Team Ceremonies
  • Conduct rigorous reviews of pull requests by developers
  • Contribute to the customer’s Developer Community (creation/maintenance of standards, best practices, etc.)
  • Work with leader on resourcing issues
  • Collaborate with Security and DevOps to promote best practices
  • Lead Project Dev Lead meetings

Core to this need is experience in the following:

  • 5+ years JavaScript 6
  • 3+ years Angular 2 and above
  • 3 years TypeScript
  • 4 years NodeJS, ExpressJS
  • 3 years AWS Cloud/Cloud Native Development
  • 4+ years RDBMS (MySQL) and NoSQL (Mongo/Dynamo)
  • 8+ years Java/C#/other OOP language
  • 5+ years OOAD
  • 2+ years OpenAPI/REST standards
  • Azure DevOps experience
  • DS and Algorithm experience

Ideally you will also have:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics (Graduate Degree always is a plus)
  • AWS Professional or Associate Certification
  • Experience with NestJS
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development
