Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Sister Lakes Brewing Company is a brewery, taproom and restaurant in Dowagiac, MI in the heart of Sister Lakes.  We are searching for a responsible and trustworthy leader who has a commitment to excellent customer service and a passion for great craft beer and food.  We are currently hiring for the unique position of Manager on Duty / Bartender / Server.  This person will be responsible for a combination of supervising the daily operations of the taproom as well as bartending / serving.  They will be responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience by maintaining standards of service, managing staff and ensuring daily operational procedures are followed while being a Sister Lakes Brewing Company brand ambassador.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Bartending / Serving
  • Opening, operating, and closing taproom efficiently
  • Nightly deposit reconciliation, reporting and logs
  • Enforce business standard operating procedures and policies
  • Lead and manage employees to ensure quality customer service
  • Assist and motivate staff wherever needed to meet or exceed service standards
  • Discipline and document employees as needed
  • Train new employees and facilitate ongoing training with current employees
  • Maintain good communication between employees, owners and customers
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary facility according to standard operating procedures and Van Buren County health codes
  • Track inventory, supplies and merchandise
  • Update and maintain beer and food menus
  • Educate customers on beer options and choices
  • Communicate daily beer and food specials to customer base and staff
  • Interact with vendors and coordinate delivery schedules
  • Assist in executing on-premise and off-premise company events
  • Update POS system as needed and manage promotions / discounts
  • Verify legal drinking age based on an authorized government issued ID

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three years working in a brewery, bar or restaurant with at least one year of prior management experience is required
  • Team Player is a must!
  • Obtain and maintain ServeSafe and TIPS (or equivalent) certification
  • Proficiency with computer and Microsoft office
  • Passion and knowledge of craft beer
  • Ability to deal with difficult customers

  • Able to multitask and prioritize
  • Must be over 21 years of age

 

HOURS:

Hourly, full-time position consisting of both management, server and bartender shifts. 

 

PAY:

Hourly rate plus tips
