Shopkick is in search of a Public Relations Manager. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the ideal candidate must be an excellent writer, results-driven and experienced pitching both consumer and business media and other influencers. He or she must also be a creative thinker who exhibits strong organizational skills. As a high growth company, we are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and embodies the company's mission and culture. You work exceptionally well cross-functionally with strong communication and leadership skills. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Generate media outreach strategies, and execute plans thoughtfully and effectively
  • Lead the research, planning and development of comprehensive PR programs; draft media relations materials such as pitches, press releases, briefing materials and coverage reports
  • Build on existing strong relationships with members of the press, influencers and key partners
  • Create written communications such as press releases, media pitches, award submissions, speaking proposals, blog posts and Q&As
  • Develop stories based on first-party data that establish Shopkick as an authority on shopper behavior and trends
  • Work cross-functionally with members of Shopkick’s Marketing and Product teams to create effective messaging to support new products and services
  • Regularly track and report results of PR programs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in direct Communications or Public Relations including both b2b and b2c
  • Established network of contacts in relevant trades, consumer and business media
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks and teams simultaneously
  • Experience shifting between positioning for consumer media and business media audiences continuously
  • Highly driven to achieve and accomplish significant results. High personal integrity
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate up and across to a variety of audiences
  • Experience in retail or shopping apps a plus
