Vice President, Information Technology Operations

Job Description
Sesame Workshop is looking for a Vice President of Information Technology Operations. The Vice President of IT Operations will lead the team responsible for the planning, implementation, adoption and maintenance of Sesame Workshop’s Information Technology infrastructure, enterprise business systems, desktop and mobile hardware, and productivity software.

The Vice President will be a liaison between the IT staff, the two Technology and Engineering peers and key business operations stakeholders to ensure alignment of Sesame Workshop's business and technical objectives. The position will report to the CTO of the Technology and Engineering group.

Please Note : Hybrid role at our headquarters in NYC.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Lead a team responsible for the day-to-day infrastructure engineering, enterprise business systems, desktop and productivity tools and operational functions.
  • Plan, implement, maintain and oversee employee adoption and training for new or upgraded IP enterprise systems as well as business and productivity software & tools.
  • Identify new enterprise SaaS, cloud-centric technologies and tools to accommodate company growth and business models.
  • Collaborate with business division and department leads to identify gaps in business logic processes that can be automated at scale with enterprise software systems.
  • Proactively reach out to key stakeholders to drive company-wide training, adoption and scaling of business systems and productivity tools.
  • Document updates of infrastructure services run book as it relates to all infrastructure engineering, business applications, desktop client services functions.
  • Enhance existing and develop new IT Systems metrics to track process and systems performance.
  • Develop, enhance and administer infrastructure services-related SOPs established for the Technology and Engineering group.
  • Ensure IT team members follow procedures and policies established for the Technology and Engineering group.
  • Lead and serve as a primary escalation point for all technology issues related to IT Systems and Network Engineering, business applications and desktop client services functions.
  • Proactively monitor all infrastructure technologies to ensure 100 % uptime and provide ongoing infrastructure performance statistics and reports.
  • Be available to supervise or provide support in the event of a “system down” emergency.
  • Enhance existing cybersecurity framework, awareness training, SOPs to ensure all the cybersecurity policies and practices are maintained.
  • Collaborate with CTO, department leads to plan, track IT budget/investment for the deployment and maintenance of the IT services.
  • Build and maintain existing relationships with technology partners, suppliers, vendors and consultants.

  • Comfort working in a fluid environment, with an ability to anticipate and adapt to changing technology needs to meet the company's overall technology operational objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or other related technical fields. A Master’s degree is a major plus.
  • Must have a minimum of 15+ years’ hands-on experience in an IT technical role of which 7-10 years must be in DIRECT SUPERVISORY managing an operational IT team across the discipline of enterprise business systems, systems/network engineering and productivity tools.
  • Proficient in Enterprise Business Software systems.
