Internal Application: Program Coordinator

Job Description

Sesame Workshop is looking for a Program Coordinator will work in the International Social Impact Department at Sesame Workshop in New York, NY. We seek a detail-oriented and collaborative individual who will work closely with Sesame Workshop staff and partners to support curriculum development, program planning and implementation, monitoring, and project communication for a variety of educational initiatives in low-resource settings.

 

Responsibilities:

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate communication with multidisciplinary teams
  • Arrange and schedule internal meetings
  • Support travel arrangements and manage logistics
  • Submit and track necessary documents through approval processes, such as legal contracts
  • Track expenditures against budgets, submit invoices, and compile expense reports
  • Track communication with internal and external partners
  • Collaborate with the Philanthropic Development Department on materials to support fundraising and reporting

Program-Specific Activities

  • Conduct desk research and synthesize information on local educational needs, social development contexts, mass media and digital landscapes, and potential project partners and other stakeholders
  • Support development of behavior change curricula; manage the mapping of teaching and learning materials against project curricula
  • Help to develop and manage work plans, including tracking deliverables
  • Help to develop project monitoring plans and instruments
  • Draft and manage program assets, including presentations, fact sheets, internal and external reports, concept notes, and executive briefings
  • Organize and maintain project files

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in International Education, International Development, or a related field a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Ability to travel internationally and work in low-resource settings
  • Ability to work across cultures and time zones
  • Background working or living internationally desired
  • Experience in project coordination
  • Excellent written communication skills: analytical, polished, and precise
  • Experience drafting compelling concept notes, presentation decks, and executive briefings
  • Experience with collaborative processes and multi-disciplinary partnership management
  • Poised and professional communicator who can interact with high-level executives
  • Self-directed and takes initiative to accomplish goals
  • Desirable, but not required:
    • Academic or professional experience in early childhood and primary school education
    • Experience or demonstrated interest in media, children’s media, and/or strategic communications
  • Commitment to Sesame Workshop’s mission and core values; cares about international issues
