Job Description

Sesame Workshop is looking for Producer, International Social Impact.  The Producer will serve as lead producer of one or more international Sesame Workshop media projects and manage the execution and delivery of all content.     


 RESPONSIBILITIES

 Across all projects, the Producer’s responsibilities include: 

  • Lead in the development, review and execution of new global format(s)
  • Advise the Executive Producer on the ongoing strategic vision for all projects in her/his portfolio, and pro-actively seek improvements and innovations in format, distribution, and brand management
  • Oversee the dubbing, captioning (as needed), and packaging of content
  • Manage the transfer, organization and preservation of all intellectual property, including scripts, rundowns, music cue sheets, and other physical media
  • Participate in post-mortem meetings in preparation for a production of future seasons
  • Plan and co-lead creative workshops with writers, content, and production experts
  • Receive and approve all video, audio, paper deliverables and corresponding metadata at the close of a project before final payment can be made to the production partner
  • Deliver production summaries for proposals and work plans to help secure grants and funding
  • Provide brand expertise and production consultation at all stages of production, as needed
  • Travel to local countries, as needed, to provide production support, training, and oversight
  • Provide technical guidance on production-related issues to producers and other staff at SW and on our global teams
  • Work with local teams on sales and license deals and content requests.
  • Track actuals on a constant basis and provide updates to Director of Media Operations and the Finance Dept to ensure projects stay on budget and on schedule
  • Assist the ISI Director of Media Operations in preparing and processing all production-related contract requests, vendor invoices, talent payments, and expense reports
  • Arrange domestic and international travel as needed

 

 DESIRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Television/Film/Media Production, Communications, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with TV/Digital/Film/Media production
  • International production experience preferred
  • Strong interest in children's media and education, with a vision for how to innovate and deliver educational impact to children
  • Excellent communication, research and organizational skills
  • Moderate knowledge of editing software & tools, and how to support social media
  • Capacity to work across multiple projects and with various teams
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and across various time zones
  • Must thrive in a collaborative environment
  • Foreign language skills a plus

International Social Impact is a division of the Social Impact and Philanthropy department that is responsible for growing Sesame Workshop’s global presence and initiating, implementing and strategically sustaining local brand adaptations to drive reach and impact. The team collaborates with a variety of international partners, stakeholders, and service providers to deliver educationally targeted, high-quality content through coalitions of local and global media, education, government, corporate, donor and civil society partners. International Impact must strategically connect and synchronize Sesame’s global networks at the regional and country level and align content development with global development goals and global themes.
