Sesame Workshop is seeking a Manager, Strategy to join the Strategy and Ventures department. The department is responsible for providing strategic advice and consulting services to the organization’s internal business units. Working closely with internal business teams, our new Manager will identify issues, define opportunities, and develop solutions. The team’s work encompasses industry/market and competitive analysis, financial modeling, business plan development, and identifying and assessing strategies and solutions. A key aspect of the job is assessing and analyzing large amounts of information, developing a coherent point of view, and presenting the information to stakeholders in a manner that enables effective decision-making.
The Strategy and Ventures department oversees Sesame Ventures, a $15MM portfolio fund with a double bottom line investment approach. While the group does not actively solicit or directly invest in companies, they find and invest in VCs that align with Sesame’s mission. The Manager will help strategically manage our Sesame Ventures relationships, communicating regularly with our VC partners and, as needed, engage directly with their portfolio companies to maximize the mutual benefits of the partnerships.

- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years’ experience from consulting, banking, private equity or media strategy
- Strong analytical/ financial analysis and modeling skills
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to write effectively and communicate ideas with PowerPoint decks
