Human Resources Assistant

Job Description

Sesame Workshop is looking for a Human Resources Assistant for a temporary role. The Temporary Human Resources Assistant will perform general administrative duties for the department and will assist the HR Administrative Assistant and HR Managers with activities related to onboarding, benefits administration, employee activities and records maintenance.

Please note: Applicants must be able to commit to a minimum schedule of 3 days (21 hours) per week



  • Maintains personnel files and HR records
  • Gathers information and prepares monthly employee rosters
  • Assists with paperwork for onboarding, orientation and terminations for staff and Variable Hour Employees (VHE)
  • Completes reference checks, employment verification requests and background checks using E-Verify and outside vendors
  • Assists with processing staff benefits and audits employee records
  • Support HR Managers with delivering employee events
  • Responds to general employee inquiries
  • Supports department administrative duties and ad hoc projects

  • College students in their junior or senior year majoring in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other HR-related majors
