Job Description
Sesame Workshop is looking for a Human Resources Administrative Assistant. The Human Resources Administrative Assistant plays an integral role on a small, nimble team that is responsible for the human resources strategy, plans and activities for Sesame Workshop. The role is hybrid – the person reports to the CHRO and performs general administrative duties for the Chief Human Resources Officer and is also responsible for operational and administrative duties for the entire HR function. This role serves as an external and internal ambassador for the organization and functions as the person often is the first point of contact for both. This opportunity provides an excellent foundation for a person interested in a HR career.

Please note, the Human Resources Administrative Assistant position is Hybrid. There will be some in-office work days, and some remote work days.

  • Assists in the scheduling and support of the employee’s entire employee lifecycle from on-boarding, 90-day check-ins to off-boarding
  • Completes reference checks, Verification of Employment requests and background checks
  • Gathers information and prepares reports from HR-related databases and systems
  • Maintains and monitors department vendor contracts, invoices
  • Schedules meetings for CHRO and performs general administrative duties
  • Responds to managers’ and employees’ inquiries
  • Prepares and maintains organization charts and drafts employee presentations
  • Performs department administrative duties and ad hoc projects

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related subject preferred
  • Well organized
  • Attentive to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is desirable
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Works well in a team environment
