Freelance Production Coordinator, Brand Creative

Job Description

Sesame Workshop is looking for a Freelance Production Coordinator, Brand Creative. This position will be responsible for managing and coordinating the production cycle of all projects that come through the Brand Creative Production Department. This individual will play a major role in obtaining and routing vendor estimates and invoices, scheduling production time with project managers from external departments, managing reprints and inventory, asset formatting and management, as well as digital archiving.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Work with Sr. Director of Production to spec print projects, request quotes, schedule and manage prepress
  • Prepare and maintain production schedules and trackers, working closely with in-house staff [creative + ops] and external contractors to ensure deadlines are met
  • Send packaged mechanical files to vendors; traffic proofs and other production materials to and from vendors and in-house staff
  • Manage color proofing process, manage color corrections, and clearly communicate changes to vendors
  • Work with in-house staff and vendors on reprints and inventory management
  • Review and approve vendor invoices, checking against quotes and purchase orders
  • Curate product archive and digital assets management system; maintain product information databases and spreadsheets
  • Ensure quality control and manage the process with a strong eye for detail and accuracy
  • Assist photoshoot production including scheduling, shot list, estimates, and day of access and communications
  • Collect marketing team needs to integrate into shot list by category for all photo shoots
  • Support post shoot production: with retouching + digital tech pre-shoot to review naming conventions and how photo assets need to be delivered
  • Arrange and organize selects edits to place, create & distribute contact sheets
  • Track, organize & prep multi-shot images before, during & after photo shoots
  • Manage the department-wide Getty Images account from pulling requested images to troubleshooting any account issues

 

Skills and Knowledge 

  • Thorough knowledge of pre-press, estimating, scheduling, paper, printing, and binding for both digital and offset print production
  • Thorough knowledge of creative-asset formatting for all final applications including print, digital, out-of-home, experiential and event materials
  • Excellent time-management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment, effectively set priorities, and adapt to changing needs
  • Proficiency with Mac operating system
  • Proficiency with Adobe CC - focus on INDD, Photoshop, Bridge and Acrobat
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite a plus (Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook)

 

Qualifications

  • 1+ years experience as a production coordinator
  • Previous brand agency or in-house creative services experience is required
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar experience
  • Foreign language skills a plus
