Job Description
Sesame Workshop is looking for an Archive Director. The Director is responsible for the department’s efficient workflow, end-to-end processes, governance and maintenance of systems and technology supporting the operations of the group enabling the best work. Manages the group’s Project Management tool, Digital Asset Management systems and oversight of Sesame Workshop’s physical archives. This role will assist in promoting standards, procedures, protocols, and governance documentation. This role is expected to collaborate with IT partners, cross-functional area stakeholders, and leadership to optimize, automate and scale the group’s processes, systems, and tools. The role’s DAM responsibilities expands organization-wide ensuring consistent archival processes and protocols to manage the preservation of our legacy and current catalog of assets, including digitization of physical archives.

The Director provides coaching and development to a team of Digital Asset Management Administrators and Resources Librarians. They are a highly collaborative leader and team player with talent for leading and influencing large or small, cross-functional workstreams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partners with IT and key organization-wide stakeholders in the planning and managing of related enterprise systems, including but not limited to Project Management tool and Digital Asset Management systems.
  • Contribute to committees, working groups and task forces for enterprise systems and actively participate in planning needs.
  • Serve as group’s PM Tool Administrator, collaborating with marketing, project management, brand creative and other cross-functional teams to ensure project management tool delivers desired functionality and service.
  • Key member of organization wide Workfront core implementation workstream, advising, leading, and supporting implementation and rollout.
  • Advise on Workfront configuration per MarComm user group requirements, driving and influencing a baseline and standardized configuration as much as possible.
  • Develop a system to capture regular feedback for improvement and a process to update Workfront based on the feedback.
  • Oversees the DAM systems and archival process ensuring application of metadata standards, reinforcing archival protocols and proper maintenance and real time access to usable assets.
  • Collaborates organization-wide on additional content pools and/or audits, to manage and preserve a variety of asset collections.
  • Oversee the planning, evaluation and implementation of metadata and asset management policies, standards, procedures, and workflows.
  • Cultivate strong and effective relationships with stakeholders through proactive communication and being an active partner for improving operational systems and services.
  • Create a culture of inclusion and communication so that the needs of all stakeholders at all levels impact the organization’s strategy, roadmap, and systems and tool selection.
  • ­Leverages technology to gain efficiencies and improve communications within the team and organization wide.
  • Manages direct reports through performance reviews, regular one-on-one development meetings and workload balancing.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams/efforts and effectively develop team members.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, verbal, written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to own complex project and process management initiatives.
  • Superior customer service ethic.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred, preferably in Library and Information Science or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of professional experience working in an agency environment, large creative organization required, Media and Entertainment industry a plus.
  • Excellent thought leadership, strategic, analytical, and forward-planning skills.
  • Highly collaborative leader and team player with talent for influencing large or small, cross-functional teams.
  • Substantial knowledge and understanding of the creative process—print, digital, video, motion graphics, animation, and production capabilities.
  • Ability to resolve technical issues in collaboration with or independent of IT tech support.
  • Hands on experience working with Workfront Project Management tool, certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of NetX digital asset management system preferred,, Curator, Media Shuttle a plus.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively as part of a team and/or cross-functional workstreams.
  • Experience working with Workfront technologies preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of workflow tools and project management systems used by creative teams in corporate organization.
  • Foreign language skills a plus
