Job Description
Sesame Workshop is seeking a Senior. Manager, Strategy & Operations, to serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on key decisions around Sesame Workshop’s global commercial media business, including content distribution, consumer products licensing, themed entertainment, digital and interactive. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role. It offers the unique opportunity to influence decisions across all revenue streams of a commercial media business, work for a mission-driven non-profit, and help steward an iconic brand – Sesame Street.
Responsibilities
- Advising senior executives with recommendations on media distribution strategy, business development priorities, deal negotiations, and other commercial priorities
- Conducting analyses (e.g., financial models, market landscapes, competitive benchmarking, etc.) to inform and support these recommendations
- Summarizing these analyses in presentations for senior management and board members
- Serving as subject matter expert on the commercial industries in which Sesame Workshop operates and Sesame Workshop’s partners and competitors in these industries
- Providing input on budgeting and long-range planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of strategy and business planning experience; 2+ years of management consulting or investment banking experience preferred
- Passion for media and entertainment; experience strongly preferred
- Strong analytical skills, including experience with conducting financial analysis and modeling
- Ability to write effectively and communicate ideas in PowerPoint decks
- Excellent communication skills, including presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with people from different backgrounds, levels of experience, and cultures
