Job Summary

The Senior Director, Finance Systems is a member of the Corporate Finance division and reports to the VP, Finance & Controller. The hired candidate will own Sesame Workshop’s accounting and finance systems portfolio and serves as the senior technical leader responsible for the platforms that run finance operations: NetSuite, Coupa, Salesforce, Boomi, and the licensing revenue platform. The role exists to keep these systems stable, integrated, and well-governed; to co-lead the development and rollout of the licensing platform that replaces the legacy Jaguar system; and to drive system-enabled change across accounting business processes so that finance operates more efficiently and with stronger controls. The Senior Director manages the external managed service partners that support these platforms and works cross-functionally with finance, the revenue and licensing teams, grants management, legal and contracts, and IT. This position sits in the Corporate Finance division and reports to the VP, Finance & Controller.

Delivery

• Manage and administer the core finance systems portfolio (NetSuite, Coupa, Salesforce, Boomi, and the licensing platform), including configuration, saved search and report development, GL and chart-of-accounts mapping, user role management, access provisioning, and ongoing troubleshooting, to keep all platforms stable and audit-ready.

• Co-lead the development and implementation of the new licensing revenue platform that replaces the legacy Jaguar system, partnering with the revenue and licensing teams to define system requirements, support design and testing, and deliver the integrations to Salesforce and NetSuite.

• Manage and coordinate the external managed service consultants supporting the finance systems portfolio (including Folio3, CCC PPS support, and NetSuite ACS support), defining scope and priorities, monitoring delivery and service levels, and holding partners accountable to agreed outcomes.

• Support the annual audit by providing transaction detail and system-generated reports, and by coordinating and supporting internal control testing across the finance systems (including access controls, segregation of duties, and system change management), ensuring requests are fulfilled accurately and on time.

• Co-lead change in accounting system business processes by assessing current-state workflows, identifying and implementing system-enabled improvements, and producing clear process documentation and requirements so that changes are sustainable and well controlled.

• Serve as co-administrator of Salesforce alongside the revenue team’s Salesforce administrators, maintaining shared configuration standards and coordinating changes so that finance and revenue system needs stay aligned as Salesforce connects to the licensing platform and NetSuite

*This role may perform other related duties as needed to support team and organizational priorities

Engagement

. Partner with finance and controllership, the revenue and licensing sales teams, grants management, legal and contracts, and IT to align finance systems and integrations with cross-functional needs and priorities.

• Influence and align with the revenue team’s Salesforce and systems administrators on shared configuration, data standards, and integration design, given that Salesforce connects to both the Jaguar replacement platform and NetSuite, so that changes serve finance and revenue objectives without disruption.

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with external managed service partners and software vendors, representing Sesame Workshop’s interests in scoping, prioritization, and issue escalation.

• Advocate for system-enabled process improvements with finance leadership and business stakeholders, presenting recommendations and consulting on trade-offs so that decisions are well informed.

Required Qualifications

Deep, hands-on technical expertise administering NetSuite and Coupa, including configuration, saved searches and reporting, GL and chart-of-accounts mapping, and user and access management.

• Demonstrated experience managing system integrations and middleware (such as Boomi) across finance platforms, with the ability to diagnose and resolve data and workflow issues.

• Experience managing external managed service providers or implementation partners, including scoping work, setting priorities, and holding vendors accountable to service levels.

• Working knowledge of finance and accounting business processes and the controls environment, with a track record of driving system-enabled process improvements.

• 10+ years of relevant experience across media, licensing, and software environments.
