Position Summary:
The Senior Coordinator, Social Media is a key member of the Audience Development team in Marketing & Communications and reports to the Senior Director, Social Media.
This position is based at our headquarters office in New York (Manhattan) with a hybrid work environment to include a minimum of two designated in-office days, determined by the functional nature of the role and department.
Purpose:
Reporting into the Senior Director of Social Media within the Audience Development department, the Senior Coordinator, Social Media will support all day-to-day social media operations. This person will assist with calendar management, social media post development, scheduling Sesame Workshop’s cross-platform portfolio, and provide cross-department social media support. This role will require high attention to detail, a strong sense of urgency, and excellent copywriting skills. The ideal candidate is a creative individual with a passion for social media, pop culture and current media trends, children’s entertainment, and Sesame Workshop’s mission to help children everywhere grow smarter, stronger, and kinder.
Engagement:
- Work closely with the Senior Social Media Manager on curating brand editorial calendars and assist with the day-to-day management
- Provide social media support to internal business units, such as Publishing and Themed Entertainment, and manage incoming requests from submission through execution
- Contribute to content brainstorms and participate in strategy conversations
- Works with other members of Marketing & Communications as well as Programs, Global Production, and Revenue
Delivery:
- Create editorial calendars for select Sesame Street characters in accordance with platform, creative and programming strategies and under the guidance of the Senior Director of Social Media
- Draft social media posts and ensure proper approvals from internal teams
- Schedule posts across multiple platform and channels as outlined in social media calendars
- Manage social media Partner Guide creation and distribution
- Oversee library content and trend pack integration
- Own community management across all social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and others as directed), including real-time events (e.g. live broadcasts), responding to comments and actively engaging with followers and influencer posts
- Assist with social media monitoring, tracking and analytics as needed
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Active and engaged participant in social media
- In-depth knowledge of social media platforms and their users (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
- Superb verbal, written and presentation skills to communicate effectively, and on-brand, with consumers, in-house stakeholders and outside vendors
- Savvy and knowledgeable about current social media trends and innovations
- Solid understanding of digital content, communication and marketing principles
- Photo/Video editing experience/basic design capabilities for social media a plus
- Highly creative, strategic thinker with ability to develop fresh, executable ideas that support internal initiatives
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage/execute multiple ongoing projects
- Complete familiarity with MS Office Suite
- Four-year degree in marketing, journalism or communication, or similar
- An independent work ethic and drive and know when to escalate to higher-ups
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills
