POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Global Corporate Partnerships will be responsible for working collaboratively with the SVP, Global Corporate Partnerships, and across the organization to grow the Workshop’s presence through fundraising and engagement efforts for global initiatives. This position will leverage the multi-faceted corporate landscape working with corporate foundations, CSR Leads, corporate communications, brand marketing, and agencies to secure grants, strategic pr/marketing initiatives, and integrated cause partnerships.

The Director will work on a cross-functional team collaborating with various internal stakeholders. This highly visible role will require a proactive leader who brings a deep understanding of corporate philanthropic giving in order to take a lead role in program strategy, pipeline building, donor cultivation and relationship management.

This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated, entrepreneurial, results-oriented fundraiser to make a significant impact at an iconic not-for-profit.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Build funder pipeline and uncover sources of new prospects to support Sesame Workshop’s Global Social Impact work, media and U.S. program initiatives
    • Main focus is on identifying new leads/opportunities to generate new grants and proposals based on corporate and corporate foundation guidelines and interests
    • Focus on outreach to subset of industries & prepare targeted reports and in-depth analysis on potential partners
    • Manage corporate funder relationships, serving as the primary contact for key initiatives
    • Steward and develop select corporate accounts under management
    • Build relationships with other teams to coordinate and promote program integration
    • Contribute to Corporate revenue team strategy and revenue goals

REQUIREMENTS:

    • At least 8-years of experience in corporate fundraising, relationship building, and prospect management
    • Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree preferred
    • Strong track record of success in bringing new funding partnerships to (larger), U.S non-profit organizations
    • High energy individual with a passion for the mission of Sesame Workshop
    • Strong relationship building skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
    • Understands stewardship of current funders and new prospects
    • Possesses current relationships/knowledge of corporate funding community
    • Self-starter with sound judgment and creative thinking
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
    • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills: strong social skills a must; ability to interact -- with professionalism -- with a variety of personalities both internally and externally
    • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM software or equivalent software
    • Excellent Microsoft Office skills required
    • Ability to travel up to 10% or less

This position is based in New York, NY (Manhattan). Sesame Workshop follows a hybrid work model with a minimum of 2-designated in-office days.
