Art Director

About Us:

Seismic Games’ Art department is a small, focused group of game development professionals. Our intent is to
continually strengthen our best-of-class team to tackle a wide array of challenges. Our creative department and
executive management have extensive and significant experience delivering well-reviewed AAA+ titles across
all platforms.


The Art Director is responsible for defining and ultimately owning the visual look and feel of the product:

  • Collaborate on high level product vision and design

  • Oversee the development of art concepts and visualizations

  • Manage the approval and sign off process for all art assets

  • Work closely with the Creative Director and designers to develop and realize the product vision

  • Communicate the artistic vision of the game to the development team and various outsourcing art teams

  • Create the product style guide, asset tracking workflow and schedule

  • Work with producers to balance the needs of creative direction with production requirements

  • Manage and assist in developing individual work schedule, track personal tasks, and alert management to any changes in planned schedule or tasks

  • Collaborate with leads and executives to identify hires and grow internal talent

  • Collaborate with leads and executives to identify external art teams for outsourcing work

  • Maintain a positive work environment, inspiring and mentoring a small team of artists

  • Collaborate on aesthetic goals and on skill requirements across titles and new teams

  • Push the visual bar as high as possible by incorporating new techniques and technologies into the pipeline

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 8 years experience in traditional PC and/or console development

  • 2 years experience in a leadership position

  • 2 years experience in mobile or VR gaming preferred

  • Gaming experience is essential for this role. We are unable to consider applicants who work exclusively in Print, Advertising, or Media. 

Education Requirements:

  • College Degree or Minimum of 10 years applied experience
