Ability to work from home.
$9600-$12000+ a month
1099 Position
Complete TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) Training provided
Duties and Responsibilities
Creates an ongoing relationship with each patient by taking complete medical history, taking complete psychiatric history, making an assessment and diagnosis on adult and adolescence patients, individuals and families; initiating, reviewing, and revising treatment and therapy plans.
Diagnose, treat and dispense medication.
Assess, diagnose and treat emergent and chronic psychiatric and substance abuse related disorders, including crisis intervention.
Practice psychiatry in a community mental health delivery system.
Communicate with primary care physicians regarding mental health status of referred patients.
Provide consultation to primary care physicians and other mental/behavioral health staff.
Maintains adequate documentation of all patients seen, including follow-up and referral in the electronic medical record.
Assures quality and safety by a care planning process, evidence-based medicine, and active participation of patients in decision-making.
Meets with the Medical Director or
Psychiatrist on a regular basis to review charting and
medical and psychiatry care provided.
Manages the stable phases of chronic physical and mental illnesses in consultation with the psychiatrist or Medical Director as needed.
Orders and interprets laboratory reports and diagnostic imaging reports.
Coordinates health and mental health management with physicians and other agencies.
Requirements
Education
Current unrestricted Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner License and Board Certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center
Current DEA license
Active CA Licence
Psychiatric Certification
Experience
At least two years’ experience with psychotropic medication management required
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage and de-escalate crisis situations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to work independently with physician or psychiatrist telephone backup
Knowledge and Skills
Current CPR certification
Demonstrated proficiency with all tasks on the most current Psychiatric and Mental Health NP competency list
Demonstrates a willingness to report any incident that is unusual or incompatible with accepted clinic procedures
Complies with HIPAA policies
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to be sensitive with persons of diverse social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds
Proficiency with EMR, Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
