PASS Program Facilitator

Sasha Bruce Youthwork is one of the largest and most experienced providers of services to youth in Washington, DC. Our mission is to improve the lives of runaway, homeless, abused, neglected, and/or at-risk youth and their families in the Washington, DC area. We achieve this by providing shelter, counseling, life skills training, and positive youth development activities to approximately 1,500 youth and 5,000 family members each year. Job Summary:

Reports to the PASS Program Coordinator and ensures the success of the PASS program through a variety of administrative and programming functions and tasks. This includes workshop facilitation on sexual education and other topics, recruitment and retention of youth participants, marketing and community outreach efforts. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly facilitate the boys’ version of the PASS curriculum for all phases of the program
  • Develop and facilitate outreach efforts to attract and engage young men in PASS programming
  • Track attendance and facilitate various activities to meet attendance goals
  • Provide informal mentoring of young men and help them navigate young adulthood and healthy life  decisions  
  • Conduct outreach efforts in public housing communities to inform and identify youth and families that are interested in the PASS program
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of community co-facilitators; provide guidance and support to the community co-facilitator
  • Assist in the development of flyers and promotional materials plus other relevant forms related to program enrollment
  • Support social media efforts for recruitment and retention purposes
  • Participate in community meetings to develop relationships with community stakeholders and identify ways to collaborate with the PASS program and SBY
  • Participate in calls or meetings with PASS partners focused on planning and implementation of PASS program as needed
  • Follow-up with PASS participants throughout the program and link to additional community resources and SBY resources as needed
  • Support the development and facilitation of enrichment activities that compliment PASS programming and encourage youth retention in the program
  • Support the administration and gathering of various data collection tools such as surveys and evaluations to ascertain the knowledge gained through implementation of the PASS program
  • Other duties as assigned 


  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, public health, education, counseling, psychology or related field preferred
  • HS School Diploma and at least three years of related work experience in youth programming required
  • Sexual health background a plus but not required
  • Experience working in a community based setting, preferably in public housing communities in DC or urban area preferred
  • Positive and proactive with the ability to addresses issues and implement solutions
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and be detailed oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal communications and organizational skills

Reporting to the PASS Coordinator, this a Full-time, exempt level position. All candidates must possess a valid Driver’s License, pass the required DC clearances (and other states as applicable) and provide any additional information regarding previous records.
