Continuing along it highly successful growth trajectory, SFFedCU is seeking a Sr. Loan Funder for our Golden Gate Branch in San Francisco.
The Position
The Real Estate Loan Funder/Closer is responsible for completing real estate lending functions with emphasis on the funding and closing process. Major duties include preparation and verification of final closing documents for signing, timely loan funding, and verification of HUD Settlement Statements for closing. This position coordinates signing appointments with escrow officers and members to ensure the timely completion of the mortgage transaction and assists or refers members as necessary. The Real Estate Loan Funder/Closer must be registered and NMLS compliant.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
· Ensures timely preparation and accuracy of final closing document for submission to escrow company.
· Verifies that taxes and insurances are paid, or if payment is required at closing, and reviews and gathers all necessary documents prior to funding.
· Coordinates signing appointments with escrow officers and members, and when conducting verbal verification of employment prior to funding.
· Reviews all signed documents for signing accuracy and completeness prior to requesting loan funding.
· Prepares and reviews wire instructions for loan funding; verifies accuracy of fee data on escrow instructions, completes settlement of all fees and prepaid items to appropriate GLs, and ensures accurate calculations of prepaid items and sufficient reserves are collected for escrow accounts.
· Submits wire requests to EPC for funding disbursement within committed timelines.
· Completes the loan funding process in a timely manner upon confirmation from escrow officer.
· Follows up with appropriate parties with any post-closing issues that may arise, and supports others in the department as necessary
· Verifies data and exports loan file from Loan Origination System to the loans servicing module and verifies the accuracy of the Final HUD Statement and request adjustments, if necessary.
· Provides all documents required for submission to the loan custodian and loan servicing departments.
· Performs other duties as assigned
Who Are You?
Requirements, Skills, and Abilities
· Requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience in real estate loan funding, with a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with credit unions or other financial institutions
· Must possess knowledge of credit union real estate loan policies, procedures and credit union lending practices and practical knowledge of the compliance requirements involved in Final HUD calculations and tolerance levels
· Must possess excellent organization and time management skills
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate professionally
· Able to follow and process specific instructions and directives
· Ability to provide prompt and professional service
· Must possess excellent decision making skills, good judgment, be proactive, and have the ability adjust to a fast pace and challenging environment
· Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with staff and members in a professional manner
· Must possess strong problem-solving skills
· Computer literate and proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
