Job Title:  Truck Shop Manager

Reports To: Operations Manager

Job Location:  Waverly, OH

JOB SUMMARY:

Directs shop department activities and personnel, ensure all department duties are performed in a safe, timely, and efficient manner and performs independently exercising judgment and initiative. Proven work experience: diagnose, adjust, repair of fleet vehicles.

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Coordinates activities of department with related activities of other departments to ensure efficiency and economy. 
  • Reviews costs and evaluates current procedures and practices to maintain and enhance profitable operation and improve department efficiency. 
  • Plans, prioritizes, schedules, resolves problems and assigns duties to all assigned maintenance employees. 
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with vehicles and equipment. 
  • Ensures that all work is done in a safe, efficient and timely manner. 
  • Collaborates with HR and makes recommendations on employment status 
  • Reviews analyzes and prepares reports, tracks and log repairs, parts, and ensure warranties credits are realized. 
  • Develops, implements, enforces, and maintains safety standards, policies, practices, and procedures in order to comply with all applicable laws and D.O.T. regulations. 
  • Responsible for overall shop safety while ensuring proper training and the safe operation of equipment & tools. 
  • Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the maintenance shop while ensuring inventory is secured, stored and only accessible to the associates in accordance to the company guidelines. 
  • Responsible for tracking, sourcing and pricing parts, and shop inventories.  
  • Oversee and manage weekly inventory cycle counts. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 5 years large fleet maintenance management preferred.  
  • Must be flexible with hours. 
  • Must be a self-starter, willing to take the initiative and able and willing to work without direct supervision 
  • Computer and data-entry skills required; Microsoft Office 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Good visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively to all audiences  
  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. Ability to lift, push, pull and walk up and down stairs multiple times per day. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform       essential job functions.
