Job Title:          Driver Recruiter, Rural King Transportation

Reports To:      Director of Logistics

Job Location:    Rural King Distribution

FLSA Status:    Exempt

 JOB SUMMARY:

This position will work to recruit, screen, interview, and hire qualified Driver applicants to improve Driver retention and safety records.

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Seek out, interview, gather, and analyze information skillfully to obtain a complete application and pre-qualify applicants
  • Must maintain current knowledge of transportation laws, DOT regulations, and company hiring criteria
  • Respond to and act on various leads and sell driving opportunities by telephone, email and in person
  • Conduct interviews of qualified candidates. Evaluate and make conditional job offers to those candidates who meet the Company hiring criteria. 
  • Answer incoming calls from perspective candidates
  • Inform potential applicants about facilities, operations, benefits, pay and specialty/dedicated opportunities
  • Process all applications including background checks and verifications.  Read, review and understand both MVRs and DAC reports
  • Follow up via telephone or written contact with all pending candidates
  • Meet or exceed specific monthly hiring goals

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year recruiting experience or one year outside sales experience (professional level)
  • Proficient compute skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize work load; attention to details
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills both oral and written.  Pleasant but assertive-persuasive telephone personality
  • General knowledge of DOT requirements, employment laws and recruiting practices
  • Interviewing skills to include the ability to listen and analyze answers and ask appropriate questions
  • High degree of self-motivation
  • Ability to make decisions based on objective data obtained from applications and interviews
  • Some travel
