Job Title:   Training Content Developer 

Job Location:    Headquarters, Mattoon, IL

Reports To: Vice President of Human Resources 

FLSA Status:   Hourly Non-Exempt



Responsible for content design and development of training materials. Creates highly effective video and visual media content that helps associates develop essential workforce skills and increase individual effectiveness. The ideal candidate is effective with creating audio/visual media and can combine this skill with meeting adult learning and instructional design objectives of Rural King.   


  • Develop content, multimedia visual aids, educational videos, and other training materials as needed using a wide degree of creativity and latitude
  • Produce audio/visual media to support Rural Kings learning and development objectives
  • Stay involved and connected with the latest developments in audio/visual media creation for training purposes
  • Assess, leverage and optimize educational content from third parties
  • Manage multiple training projects to meet stated objectives and timelines
  • Organize logical training by interviewing subject matter experts (SMEs) and conducting research to obtain the information to be taught
  • Determine practical audio/visual media standards for production  
  • Learn new technologies and processes to create efficient and effective training
  • May be required to cross train and perform other duties


  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of related training and development experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with video camera operations, production lighting, audio and camera techniques and post-production editing preferred
  • Experience in creating instructional materials with the use of eLearning design programs such as Adobe Captivate or Articulate preferred
  • Self-motivated and can work autonomously
  • Strong organizational, analytical, creative, problem solving and planning skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills needed to effectively respond to common inquiries from employees, or members of the business community
  • Proven experience with successful project management & time management preferred
  • Proven ability to multi-task
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire on-boarding process remotely
  • Ability to complete computer-based training
