JOB SUMMARY

The primary role of the Safety and Compliance Manager is to perform the functions of safety coordination for associates and drivers in their assigned Distribution Center and compliance for Rural King. 

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work with HR to manage all areas of driver safety for RKT Fleet to include but not limited to:
    • DQ Files fr drivers and DOT required files and forms
    • Safety and Accident files and prcedures
    • Help maintain safety prgram for the fleet
    • Maintain Peple Net standards and tracking program
    • Wrk closely with dispatch on driver accountability for safety
    • DOT Inspectins
  • Maintain all licensing, permits, and registrations for RKT Fleet
  • Maintain HOS and Log Books
  • Manage insurance claims and outside carrier accidents for both RKT and DC.
  • Manage DC Safety Incentive Program
  • Review and manager all workers compensation claims
  • OSHA reporting and compliance
  • Partner with HR on safety improvements and initiatives
  • Develop safety handbook and safety training
  • Maintain 2290 taxes
  • Manage and maintain all safety reports for distribution and transportation
  • Conduct investigations and review all accidents and injuries
  • Communicate professionally with all Rural King personnel
  • Use general office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer.
  • May be required to cross train and perform other duties

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years in warehouse and/or trucking safety
  • Current knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Competent knowledge of computer fundamentals including all HR computer software programs, MS Word and Excel
  • Must be organized
  • Ability to interact with the team in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient
  • Ability to multi-task, coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire onboarding process remotely
  • Ability to complete computer-based training
