Job Description

Job Title:               Receiving Associate

Reports To:          Assistant Store Manager

Job Location:       Store

FLSA Status:         Hourly Non-Exempt

                                                                                                                                      

 

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Commit to company-established receiving practices
  • Receive Purchase Orders and ensure the accuracy of merchandise as product enters the store
  • Check in the Distribution Center trucks and sort product onto rocket carts and pallets
  • Transport freight to the sales floor after sorting
  • Aid the Management team in tracking all merchandise                                  
  • Handle store-to-store transfers and UPS/FedEx transfers
  • Scan and send any daily shorts and invoices to corporate
  • Request backhaul and make sure all pallets are wrapped to company standard  and truck is loaded
  • Insure dumpster is emptied as needed
  • Provide safe environment by keeping work areas clean & organized
  • Use of general office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, computer, calculator, fax machine, and printer
  • Ability to become forklift certified, use a pallet jack, telxon handheld and other retail electronics
  • Provide for a safe work environment  by keeping  work areas clean and organized
  • May be required to cross train and perform other duties

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous receiving and/or management experience
  • Ability to interact with the team in a fast paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient
  • Ability to work independently without supervision

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

 

MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED:

  • General office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer
  • Forklift, pallet jack, Telexon gun and other retail equipment

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Good visual acuity and ability to communicate
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 30 pounds repetitively and 31-50 pounds intermittently
  • Ability to stand and/or walk/and or kneel for long periods of time
  • Ability to use a ladder and/or pallet jack
  • Ability to operate forklift and perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively and professionally with all audiences (in person, via handheld transceiver and telephonically)
